Kann mich den Vorrednern nur anschließen. Toller und leichter Säbel mit makelloser, scharfer Klinge.

Ein sehr schöner Säbel, die Klinge ist perfekt verarbeitet und scharf , liegt gut in der Hand und das Gewicht optimal. Der Shamshir ist sein Geld wirklich wert. Würde mich freuen wenn es Säbel der Ukrainischen Kosaken geben würde

Ein geniales Schwert! Tolle Verarbeitung und sichere Handlage. Die Klinge wies eine Härte von ca. 55 HRC auf und ist rasiermesserscharf geschliffen. Der Shamshir ist wirklich jeden Cent wert!

This is probably the only production scimitar of decent quality, historical shape and sharpened edge on the market today. It is a shame that there are so few Turkish, middle-eastern or Indo-Persian swords out there because I can attest to the splendour of this handy little sabre. Cold Steel's shamshir is a light but blade heavy weapon with a slim profile that seems to be slightly wider through the curve than near the hilt. The overall spine is reasonably thick but rapidly becomes much thinner near the point, which is extremely sharp. The edge is also very well sharpened, which together with the dramatic curve makes for a devastating cutter/slicer of soft objects. The lower 10 centimeters of the blade has been left unsharpened and can be used as a ricasso, which is useful for two reasons. One is that it enables faster strikes, the other that it secures your hand on the grip better than holding the hilt as normal (since it is a bit slippery and has an unusual type of pommel). The scabbard has no slotted opening like many authentic scimitars and therefore requires a small effort to either draw or sheath the sword. In other words, it is impossible for the Shamshir to accidently fall out of its home. The leather and metal fittings look good, but not extraordinary. I recommend this sword to any admirer, backyard cutter or collector.

Seit Jahren produziert Cold Steel Blankwaffen von hoher Qualität. Auch der Shamshir bildet da keine Ausnahme. Er ist kein billiger "Dekosäbel", sondern eine echte, kampftaugliche Waffe. Die Klinge ist perfekt verarbeitet, scharf und hat den britischen Test für Säbel bestanden. Die Form lehnt sich eng an die persischen Vorbilder. Damit gibt es endlich eine klassische orientalische Waffe auf den Markt. Schade nur, dass Cold Steel bislang nicht mehr davon im Programm hat, ein türkischer Yatagan oder ein indischer Tulwar würden die Palette abrunden?
