Product information "Early Medieval Single Hand Tinker Pearce Sharp"
The Early Medieval Sword is typical of the 13th-14th century single hand swords but the Type XII blade was known to be in use from as early as the late Viking era.

This version features a sharp Marquenched spring steel blade. As with all Medieval Tinker models, this sword is dismountable.

CAS has commissioned Michael `Tinker` Pearce to design a line of swords that will satisfy both the sparring and cutting needs of Western Martial Arts practitioners.

Matching sharp and blunt versions of each sword in the series offer the same outstanding handling characteristics in both disciplines. The swords meet Tinker`s exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces.

Each blade is forged from 5160 spring steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 HRC while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s HRC. For the Medieval models the very end of the tang is threaded to fit an allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dismantling of the hilt assembly for inspection, to exchange blades if needed, and for anyone wanting to easily customize their grip. Also the sharp and blunt blades are interchangeable on all Medieval models. The grips are cord wrapped and leather covered wood and tapered for a comfortable grip. Each sword is supplied with a leather covered wood scabbard with metal throat and chape.

Two handed Danish Sword
Danish Two Handed Sword, Type XVIIIe, Medieval Sword 15th Century (1410-1500) The history of Denmark is filled with tumultuous periods of war and strife, conflicts driven by the same political and religious factors that were widespread throughout Medieval and Post-Medieval Europe. Smaller kingdoms were swallowed up by larger, and larger kingdoms splintered apart. Due to this fairly colorful history, the Danes became known for some distinctive weaponry, of which this Danish Two-Handed battle ready Sword is an example. This medieval sword is classified as an Oakeshott Type XVIIIe, a very unusual member of the Type XVIII group. These two handed danish sword are some of the few that can be safely tied to a specific region. Type XVIIIe medieval swords have been found almost exclusively in Denmark. It is believed however that some examples may actually be German or Italian in origin. The unique and defining characteristic of this type of sword is its unusual narrowed ricasso. It features a long, stiff diamond shaped blade with an extremely long handle, making it suitable for cut and thrust swordplay as many other swords were in the later 15th Century. Light and well balanced, this two handed battle ready sword has excellent cutting and thrusting abilities. Guided and balanced with the decorated globe pommel pommel, the pointed guard can be used as a weapon capable of stabbing under the gorget and helmet, effectively defeating the opponent. The Danish Two handed battle ready sword sword also has a long unsharpened ricasso that can be gripped to shorten up the blade for closer work. This option to fight with the “half sword” makes the Danish Two-Handed Medieval Sword an incredibly versatile weapon. Details: Overall Length: approx. 127 cm Blade Length: approx. 99 cm Blade Width: approx. 3.8 cm HRC: 60, 48-50 at the core Blade Material: 5160 High Carbon Steel Weight: approx. 1333 g Please note: The sword will be delivered only with the scabbard, the "matching belt" is not included but can be ordered for an extra charge.

Shamshir
The Shamshir originated in Persia and spread throughout the former Ottoman Empire and beyond into India and even the Philippines. Its strongly curved blade was enduringly popular and absolutely ideal for delivering a devastating cutting stroke. And, contrary to popular belief, it was very effective at delivering rising, descending and hooking style thrusts! Typically, the curved Shamshir blade had a narrow cross section and a sharp point. It had a simple brass or steel crossbar hilt and an equally straightforward handle made from wood or animal horn that terminated in a distinctively bulbous pommel. This pommel was offset slightly to help the hand resist centrifugal force when making a hard cutting stroke. Our version of this historic saber replicates the original as closely as possible. The only modifications were to substitute a modern high carbon steel for the blade and to use black faux buffalo horn for the handle. Even the scabbard is a close copy of the original. It´s made of thick, black leather (so it won´t dull the blade) and reinforced by a brass throat and chape, and comes complete with dual suspension rings. Specifications: Overall: 92 cm Blade: 77.47 cm Thick: 0.5 cm Weight: 842 g Steel: 1055 High Carbon  : :
