RESOLZA is an ancient name, reminiscent of the Italian word for razor. The centuries old Sardinian “resolza” one of the best-known traditional knives in our country – to this day it’s been the constant companion to island farmers and shepherds in their everyday work. DOBERMANN IV is the evolution of the first and most classic Extrema Ratio K1 DOBERMANN. Since 1997 the DOBERMANN model has notably evolved its aesthetic and design according to everchanging tastes and trends, while retaining a line consistent with its original designs. DOBERMANN IV has usage flexibility and structural resistance as its main characteristics. DOBERMANN IV S600, like the model from which it derives, is a multirole knife that can be used for hunting, survival, camping and military use. The blade has a drop point tip while the central part has a recurved blade profile. The grind, higher than the knives of the same segment, is flat. This particular blade geometry allows DOBERMANN IV to make precise and clean cuts on materials such as rope, wood and foliage, as well as to be employed for typical bushcraft and survival operations, such as batoning and chopping. Unlike the other DOBERMANN IVs, this model is made of Böhler S600 steel. This material is used for manufacturing metalwork and stamp-creation tools. Fulcrum, Desert Warfare

Probably a milestone among multipurpose knives. Employed on a large scale in Afghanistan as standard equipment by the members of the Italian mission "Nibbio", it is part of an experimental project undertaken by the Alpine Troops Headquarters on the renewal of individual equipment. During the preparation for this mission, the Alpine Troops Headquarters coordinated a team of companies in the realization of a new and complete experimental kit of individual equipment. Extrema Ratio is the company that the Alpine Troops Headquarters chose for the development of a multipurpose knife suitable for the infantry, a knife that could be used in any action and that could successfully solve any type of problem even where more specialized equipment proved inadequate. It was so successful that the multipurpose knife then led to the development of the Fulcrum Bayonet, which had the same characteristics but could be fixed to the issued rifle. The Fulcrum is an extremely robust and versatile knife, the blade can take loads over 150kg without breaking, the point is incredibly robust and the "tanto" profile means the knife can be used for long periods without affecting the sharpness of the last section, this guarantees, together with the partially sharp dorsal blade, (the civilian version does not include this), its capacity for penetration which is necessary in close combat against targets with heavy clothing, garnments and soft ballistic protection. The forward centre of gravity and the weight of the blade make it suitable for heavy field work. The new automatic hard sheath means it can be carried both safely and comfortably and the lace that holds the upper part of the handle dramatically reduces the risk of entanglement, even when making parachute jumps. The speed and facility with which both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance can be carried out help to make Fulcrum an excellent choice for use on a large scale from an economic and administrative point of view. Extrema Ratio developed the first knife of a new production line, called CONTACT.It has a blade with a lance-shaped profile, a flat grinding and a diamond-shaped geometry. It has got a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve grip, a concave fuller along the entire length of the blade and a generous thickness blade (6.30mm) All these details make the Contact the elder brother of the now famous Requiem, revisited in proportions and in some technical features. The first of a new line of multipurpose knives.The blade is made in Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All other colours in production have got a blade with Stone Washed finishing. The handle is still in forprene . It is no more assembled by the side screws but thanks to the shank in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel that is screwed to the bottom and goes to fit inside a special seat, which makes it solid. In this way the knife is well balanced. The sheath is minimalist; most of the fabric has been cut off; it has got a 2nd level retention system, remembering the style of the model it was inspired by.The main shell is injection-molded in shockproof nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous users. The blade is guided into the sheath thanks to its cone shape that lends itself well to the rapid insertion and extraction of the blade. To extract the blade, a pressure on the trigger will be sufficient, thus releasing the safety that holds it securely in the sheath. In the horizontal slits of the sheath a system is added, which fixes the blade to avoid shaking noises when it is stored inside. The back side of the nylon sheath is M.O.L.L.E. compatible.The textile part is reduced to its minimum and has got the classic two-button safety strap with a belt loop and a thigh band with rubber reinforcement for anti-rotation. MK2.1 Desert Warfare

The restyling of a classical, a tribute to a veteran, one of the most distributed and used knives during World War II: MARK 2. It was produced in many versions by historical US knives manufacturers but always following the original specs given by the U.S. NAVY. It is the preferred tool among traditionalists who only trust “battle tested" knives. Throughout the years several manufacturers have tried to restyle this knife with little success. It is in fact the original model which is still favoured in the main catalogues. Extrema Ratio’s aim, in this ambitious project, is to keep the original characteristics while developing only functional changes to increase performance. Cobalt reinforced stainless steel is used for the blade, AISI 303 and AISI 304 are used for the other components. The rounded leather handle has been replaced with a fibre glass reinforced nylon handle. The ergonomics of the original knife has been left intact while all structural parts have been oversized to obtain a sturdy versatile knife. The most important changes have been made to solve the so called “weak spots” of the original version. 1. it is now possible to disassemble the knife in the field without the need of tools; 2. the Bowie shape was straightened for easy sharpening; 3. the grooves in the “barrel” shaped handle help to find proper blade direction even in dark conditions 4. the same grooves improve the grip during twisting movements Other small modifications were to add holes on the back tang to add a lanyard and on the front guard to tie the blade on a pole to be used as a spear. For purely aesthetical reasons the traditional blood groove has been replaced with the typical Extrema Ratio “side groove”. The original knife was perfect and no other modifications were needed. This model with reduced sizes has been developed on the shape of the skinner and it has been transformed into a real tactical knife. The handle is very closed to the sharpened edge and presents a curve on the lower side to place the index finger, so that to avoid injuring during pulling out from the kydex sheath. A well-motivated classic. The “kukri”, the Nepalese multipurpose tool made famous by the Gurka Regiment, in service of Her Britannic Majesty and derived from the ancient Greek falcate swords, is nothing more than a machete with an advanced cutting edge. This cutting advancement allows it to replicate the functionality of an axe, while maintaining the versatility of the long blade. Extrema Ratio, managing to blend ancient and modern concepts, has created several tools belonging to this category, among which the KH. The blade of this machete has differentiated sharpening. Extrema Ratio developed the first knife of a new production line, called CONTACT.It has a blade with a lance-shaped profile, a flat grinding and a diamond-shaped geometry. It has got a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve grip, a concave fuller along the entire length of the blade and a generous thickness blade (6.30mm) All these details make the Contact the elder brother of the now famous Requiem, revisited in proportions and in some technical features. The first of a new line of multipurpose knives.The blade is made in Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All other colours in production have got a blade with Stone Washed finishing. The handle is still in forprene . It is no more assembled by the side screws but thanks to the shank in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel that is screwed to the bottom and goes to fit inside a special seat, which makes it solid. In this way the knife is well balanced. The sheath is minimalist; most of the fabric has been cut off; it has got a 2nd level retention system, remembering the style of the model it was inspired by.The main shell is injection-molded in shockproof nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous users. The blade is guided into the sheath thanks to its cone shape that lends itself well to the rapid insertion and extraction of the blade. MK2.1 Black

The restyling of a classical, a tribute to a veteran, one of the most distributed and used knives during World War II: MARK 2. It was produced in many versions by historical US knives manufacturers, but always following the original specs given by the U.S. NAVY. It is the preferred tool among traditionalists who only trust “battle tested" knives. Throughout the years, several manufacturers have tried to restyle this knife with little success. It is in fact the original model which is still favoured in the main catalogues. Extrema Ratio’s aim in this ambitious project, is to keep the original characteristics while developing only functional changes to increase performance. Cobalt reinforced stainless steel is used for the blade, AISI 303 and AISI 304 are used for the other components. The rounded leather handle has been replaced with a fibre glass reinforced nylon handle. The ergonomics of the original knife have been left intact while all structural parts have been oversized to obtain a sturdy versatile knife. The most important changes have been made to solve the so called “weak spots” of the original version: 1. It is now possible to disassemble the knife in the field without the need of tools 2. the Bowie shape was straightened for easy sharpening 3. the grooves in the “barrel” shaped handle help to find proper blade direction even in dark conditions 4. the same grooves improve the grip during twisting movements Other small modifications were to add holes on the back tang to add a lanyard and on the front guard to tie the blade on a pole to be used as a spear. For purely aesthetical reasons the traditional blood groove has been replaced with the typical Extrema Ratio “side groove”. The original knife was perfect and no other modifications were needed. Diving knives come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Everyone has his own preference but, for sure, it's a must for a combat proof diving equipment. A dive knife should have a sharp cutting edge and serrated sawing edge and must be extremely robust and "rust proof". Also it should have an an ergonomic handle to avoid slippering and help in low light / no light situations and come with a good sheath or holder. Extrema Ratio diving knives comes from a long process of development and testing by combat and commercial divers. The ULTRAMARINE is the result of four years of research and development, conducted by Extrema Ratio in collaboration with Military Dive Teams of the Italian Special Forces, Law Enforcement Dive Teams and Civilian Underwater Operation Experts. Units involved in underwater and amphibian operations use a variety of specialty tools. The main objective of the ULTRAMARINE Project is to substitute these different tools with one versatile utensil capable of performing the multitude of tasks that professionals in the fields are asked to perform in these difficult and challenging operations. The Primary Functions are: : FIELD OPERATIONS As with any respectable working tool, the mass of the blade has to be heavy enough to efficiently chop branches and shrubs in order to make emergency shelters, camouflage emplacements, stretchers, utensils or sector stakes. The serrations facilitate cutting rope when the blade is dull from wear & tear. The steel tang can be used as a hammer or glass breaking tool. The sharp portion of the blade near the handle can be used for precision cutting & whittling. UNDERWATER OPERATIONS To avoid damaging buoyancy or flotation devices during on-board operations with the exposed metal components of the knife, a flap was incorporated to cover the sheath & knife. The retention lanyard allows the user to work on equipment without having to sheath the knife. The handle was designed with a plus sized grip & a special anti-slip material developed by Extrema Ratio to facilitate retention while wearing neoprene gloves. With load positioned on the weakest end of the line cutter the blade withstands a load index of 45 kg. On the blade with load positioned in the center, the blade withstands a load index of 70 kg. EMERGENCY TOOL The sheath is designed to be sleek and hydrodynamic, with a close, tight fit to the body that reduces the possibility of entanglements. The sheath also has a quick-release function that allows the knife to be rapidly drawn by simply pulling on the upper portion of the protective flap. The protective flap uses special anti-wet snap fasteners that are specifically designed for water environments. O-ring and retention system are disabled with a strong pull. It has got a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve grip, a concave fuller along the entire length of the blade and a generous thickness blade (6.30mm) All these details make the Contact the elder brother of the now famous Requiem, revisited in proportions and in some technical features. The first of a new line of multipurpose knives.The blade is made in Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All other colours in production have got a blade with Stone Washed finishing. The handle is still in forprene . The "kukri", a Nepalese tool made famous by the Gurkha regiment on Her Majesty's Service is also derived from the ancient Greek swords, it is simply a machete with a forward cut. The forward cutting blade allows it to work like an axe while maintaining the versatility of the long blade. This series was developed based on a fusion of modern and antique concepts. RESOLZA is an ancient name, reminiscent of the Italian word for razor. The centuries old Sardinian “resolza” one of the best-known traditional knives in our country – to this day it’s been the constant companion to island farmers and shepherds in their everyday work. It followed them even when they were called to war: chronicles of the Sassari Brigade during World War I mention the knife as part of the troopers’ equipment. Our attempt to revisit this traditional design according to our own standards is meant as a tribute, not to disregard Sardinian craftsmen still practicing the old ways of knife-making and keeping ancestral traditions alive. This RESOLZA retains original measurements and proportions, with a 4.8” blade, but is produced with the usual Extrema Ratio high-end materials and technologies. The handle was redesigned, while the blade more faithfully approaches a traditional shape. As an improvement on tradition, we added a blade-locking mechanism.
