James Bond Replica 1/1 Moonraker Laser Limited Edition 50 cm

MOONRAKER, released in 1979 at the height of a global science-fiction craze, details Bonds efforts to thwart the genocidal plans of Hugo Drax. On the surface a hugely successful global business titan, Drax is, in truth, a madman bent on global domination. The original props were polyurethane and rubber with no moving parts. They were specially constructed for the film by the EON Productions prop department, and a large quantity of different props were produced. The main body was constructed around a casting taken from a toy gun. Various real-world parts, including plumbing supplies, were added to complete the fantasy look. The laser effects seen on screen were added later during post-production using a labor-intensive animation technique known as 'rotoscoping. While cutting edge in its day, the process has been replaced by modern digital effects today. A slightly more detailed 'hero' prop was briefly seen being used by an MI6 operative disguised as a monk. A large number of stunt props were used during the climactic final battle sequence, both as handheld weapons and as mounted onto the US Marines' spacewalk apparatus. THE REPLICA The Factory Entertainment Moonraker Laser prop replica was created after careful study of the original props in the EON Productions archives, as well as reference photographs and original production drawings. The original props were made quickly, of lightweight materials, to suit the needs of film production. The replica is cast from a heavyweight polyresin and features metal fittings. Although visually identical to the original, the replica has more heft and strength than the original props. Physical triggers are not present on the original props; they were deliberately omitted for practical reasons, to allow the actors to hold the props and fit their fingers into the area where a trigger would normally be while wearing thick astronaut gloves. The replica features an ultra-bright blue LED light effect, activated by a concealed button, as a homage to the ground-breaking rotoscoped visual effects and to enhance the 70's laser-weapon aesthetic. Inspired by the Moonraker laser's later appearances in 007 video games, scope detail and a movable 'selector-lever' have also been incorporated into the replica. Each replica includes a certificate of authenticity booklet, a display stand and an individually numbered metal plaque. The edition size is 750 pieces. Oddjob is the manservant of Auric Goldfinger, James Bond's antagonist in 1964's GOLDFINGER. Oddjob is a formidable character - extremely strong, skilled in martial arts and in possession of a deadly weapon, his black bowler hat. THE REPLICA The Factory Entertainment Oddjob Hat prop replica was created after careful study of the remaining original SFX hat with the embedded rim in the EON Productions archives, as well as reference photographs and original production drawings. The original archive hat was hand-measured, and a 3D model was created from these measurements in order to create wooden molds, or 'forms' that were then used to press and stretch woolen felt into the correct shapes. Historically, bowler hats were designed to afford some protection to the heads of gamekeepers, so they were made from thick durable material. The Factory Entertainment team duplicated this, commissioning a special ultra-heavyweight felt material that is even tougher than its 1960's forebears. The metal rims of the original props would only have needed to adhere to the hats for short takes. The Factory Entertainment team wanted their replica to last a long time, and after experimenting with many different options and prototypes, the team developed a method that includes both mechanical and chemical bonding to invisibly and permanently fix the two different materials together. The Oddjob Hat replica also features the following screen-accurate details: - Black edging ribbon and a satin hat band on the exterior. - A satin liner and a leather band on the interior. - Laser cut brushed stainless steel metal ring. - Hat size -- 7 3/8" (58cm) hat size. Rather, it was a series of ever-changing sets that would physically morph from scene to scene and season to season. It was a 'live' set that evolved regularly. Because of the many variations in the Batcave seen on screen, our model does not attempt to duplicate a particular arrangement from a given episode or a specific scene. Rather it replicates the "feel" of the Batcave set as it is most commonly seen. The inclusion of movable elements allows you to customize the look of the cave around a core group of fixed parts, including the prominent 'atomic pile,' which are presented in their most common positions. The classic Batman TV series Batcave was a riot of color, with a uniquely 1960's atheistic. Each model contains more than 16 different LED lights, in a variety of hues, both fixed and animated, that bring the Batcave to life, including: - Hidden floor lights, to emulate the large floodlights with colored gels that were used on set. - A pulsating color change effect inside the Atomic Core. - Flashing lights in select monitors and screens. Live And Let Die is the only James Bond film to feature a supernatural theme and was also the first major motion picture to feature tarot card reading as a central plot device. The producers were keen to avoid any of the typical occult stereotypes that were frequently seen in films of the period that featured tarot. So Scottish artist Fergus Hall was commissioned to paint unique art as the centerpieces for Solitaire's iconic cards. A traditional tarot card deck contains 78 cards, however the compressed tight deadlines of film production meant that only 27 different paintings, therefore only 27 different prop cards, could be completed in time. A licensed deck of 78 Tarot Cards was made available in stores when Live And Let Die premiered in theaters. This same deck was later re-branded as 'The Tarot of the Witches' and remains popular with tarot practitioners and enthusiasts to this day. However, both these decks feature significantly revised and edited artwork that was produced after filming had been completed and does not match what was seen in the film. The Factory Entertainment team meticulously digitally restored high-resolution scans of the original prop cards in the EON Productions archive. This set replicates exactly the 27 cards used in production, including two recently rediscovered cards which were thought to have been lost and have never been previously reproduced. The set also includes 10 duplicate 'The Lovers' cards, making a total of 37 cards in each set. In Dune lore a Crysknife is formed from the tooth of the Sandworm or Shai-Hulud which are sacred to the Fremen of Arrakis. Each young Fremen receives a Crysknife after completing a ritual to confirm his adulthood, and legend states that a Crysknife cannot be seen by outsiders, nor can it be re-sheathed until it has drawn blood. Different props were produced for the film - a hero prop and a special effects prop which incorporated a concealed 'bloodletting' feature allowing stage blood to 'appear' as the blade inflicted an on-screen wound. This necessitated some changes to the geometry of the blade and the size of the handle. Therefore, each prop is slightly different, although both were made from epoxy resin. The Factory Entertainment team studied the original props and created a 3d model that perfectly captures the nuances of each, blended into a single execution. Cast from durable bone colored epoxy resin, each replica is then hand finished and weathered for the correct on-screen look. This painstaking process means that, like the original props, no two pieces are exactly identical.
