The Raptor Series has been designed for the cutting practitioner who does not necessarily have access to mats but who wishes to practice and perfect his cutting technique. The blades are forged in 5160 high carbon steel and specially heat treated to produce very high resilience and greater tolerance of misdirected cuts than a conventional differentially tempered blade. John Lee Red Wood Wakizashi

Due to popular demand, the Red Wood Iaito is now offered as Wakizashi. Thus, this beautiful training sword training is now available to the wider public. The name derives from the dull, brownish-red lacquered sheath, in which the grain of the wood is still clearly visible. The sword blade in Shinogi-Zukuri style has a groove (Bo-Hi), is hand forged, blunt and made of 420 stainless steel. The handle wrapping is made of black cotton in a classic Hineri Maki style. In the red-brown, matt lacquered sheath in Cha-Sti Ishimi style the wood grain is still visible. Due to the long tang, which is fixed in the handle with two bamboo pins (Mekugi), the sword is fully demountable. There is no plastic used, only high-quality, authentic materials are used. Musashi Ichi Wakizashi

Miamoto Musashi lived from 1584 to 1645 and went down in Japanese history as one of the most impressive samurai. He is referred to as the best Japanese swordsman. He was artist and artisan at the same time. The Musashi Ichi wakizashi has a handforged blade made of carbon steel with a fine hamon and has been tempered traditionally. The sharp blade features a hi (fuller) to reduce the total weight. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, has been coated with real fish skin and features two menukis. In addition it has been traditionally wrapped in black cotton. The tang is especially long and fixed with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). Inmortal Wakizashi

The wakizashi meaning "side inserted sword" is one of the traditionally made Japanese swords worn by the samurai class in feudal Japan.The wakizashi being worn together with the katana was the official sign that the wearer was a samurai or swordsman of feudal Japan. When worn together the pair of swords were called daishō, which translates literally as "big-little". The wakizashi was one of several short swords available for use by samurai including the tantō.While the wearing of katana was limited to the samurai class, wakizashi of legal length (ko-wakizashi) could be carried by the chonin class which included merchants.
