Alan Folts is a knifemaker and metalworker in Greenville, N.C., who makes a remarkable range of custom objects, including titanium chopsticks. His Minimalist® neck knives have proven to be very popular, so CRKT are now offering three production versions.
They are very small and lightweight knives which give surprising comfort and control, thanks to the unusual geometry of the full-tang blades, aided by three finger choils, friction grooves for the thumb, hand-contoured green-black Micarta® scales and a braided fob. Unlike many small neck knives, this handle is really functional for a wide variety of daily cutting tasks.
Each Minimalist comes with a custom-fitted Zytel® sheath and neck paracord for inverted carry as a neck knife. The knife is held securely in place by a positive detent which locks the base of the blade in place for maximum safety.
Because the knife and sheath weigh about 57 g together, it is a personal carry you will barely notice.
Minimalist® Bowie. We offer this deep-bellied clip-point Bowie style approx. 5.4 cm blade for those who desire a classic hunting knife blade shape. The Minimalist Bowie makes a great wilderness carry, and can be used for camp chores, cooking, and even skinning and dressing in a pinch. It is also an excellent survival knife.
True to their name, these really are minimal fixed blades, but they are also the most useful for their size that we have seen. And they are certainly a great value, which explains why the Minimalist family continues to grow.

Sometimes your life depends on the tools you select-tools such as your pitons, ice axe, crampons and knife. Because climbers regard reaching the summits of the 14,000 ft. North American peaks as the pinnacle of achievement, we named this popular line the 14K SummitTM series.
We began with our powerful InterFrame locking liner construction in an easily cleaned open build, with nickel chrome plated zinc alloy scales featuring an aircraft-style drilled "skeleton" design. Weight is reduced without compromising the exceptional strength. The dual liners are 420J2 stainless steel. Handles are designed with an extended guard, generous size and bead-blast finish to give you extra gripping power. Friction grooves at the lock and on the blade spine improve grip in wet and icy conditions.
The high-carbon, 420J2 stainless steel blades feature a rugged modified drop point shape and bead-blast finish. Blade grinds are engineered to retain maximum thickness at the tip and through the length of the spine. This blade is built for real work. Triple-PointTM Serrations are available on all sizes.
Integrated into the design is the patented* LAWKS® safety, which effectively converts your folder into a virtual fixed blade when the lever is slid forward- very reassuring when you are using your knife for difficult and tiring tasks.
The Mt. Whitney and Denali feature hefty 8.9 cm blades. The Long´s Peak and Mt. Rainier offer 7.3 cm blades, while the Pike´s Peak and Mt. Shasta are more pocketable models with 6 cm blades.
Double-grooved ambidextrous thumb studs allow you to comfortably open or close the blade with a single, smooth, one-handed motion, aided by the Teflon® bearings at the blade pivot which guarantee continued smoothness.
All fasteners are Torx®, proven superior in initial assembly and owner maintenance, such as tightening the pivot screw for proper blade tension after years of heavy, sustained work loads.
The convenient stainless steel clothing/gear clip is Teflon plated and easily removable, attached with three Torx fasteners.
In designing this series, we set out to reach the summit of tough, strong folding knives. It´s all about excellence and achievement. If you´re comparing all-alloy, multipurpose knives, we´ve set the standard. We trust you´ll agree.

James Williams is actively involved in teaching Military special operations and government security professionals who must at times perform their daily high-risk duties in environments which do not allow them to carry firearms or a large fixed blade knife such as the HissatsuTM. At training sessions and demonstrations, they have asked James to design a folder with the defensive power of the Hissatsu that can be a concealed carry in a pocket or clipped comfortably under a jacket. The result is the CRKT HissatsuTM Folder. Blade length is 9.8 cm, which is safely under the legal limit in most jurisdictions, while blade finish is non-reflective black Teflon® coating.
The blade shape is a classical Samurai design which gives outstanding penetrating power as well as exceptional slashing performance. We have used our premium AUS 8 stainless steel for the optimum in strength and edge-holding ability with very good stain resistance.
As the blade is opened it locks automatically with our patented (2) AutoLAWKSTM safety. This makes the Hissatsu Folder a virtual fixed blade, which is important in high-stress rapid-deployment situations.
We have used a heavy-duty version of our stainless steel InterFrame build with beefy 0.15 cm 420J2 stainless steel liners, one locking, and black Zytel® scales, textured to provide a secure grip. A thumb disk allows rapid opening with either hand, and the custom Teflon®-plated stainless steel clip can be quickly and easily mounted right- or left-handed with a single screw, yielding a knife that is truly ambidextrous.
Here´s a tactical knife for the professional that is overbuilt to last. For those who have a need to use it, this is as much defensive security as you can find in a tactical folder.

Your basic outdoor utility knife. If you’re a badass Gurkha warrior. Designer Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical is no stranger to archaeologically-significant edged tools; his parents gifted him an antique Kukri knife when he was just ten years old. He’s been refining his aesthetic taste and design skill ever since. The culmination of his passion and hard work: The KUK™. Over the top? That’s just how we like it.
Designer Ryan Johnson hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and hasn’t just dedicated his impressive career to producing incredible knives, but to studying the historical and cultural significance behind them. The KUK™ fixed blade is a reflection of this lifelong fascination—it harkens back to just what exactly enticed him to knifemaking in the first place.
Named KUK™, short for kukri, after the Nepalese tactical and utilitarian machete, this full tang recurved blade means business. One look at the burly carbon steel blade with a black powder coated finish is proof. Balanced out by a tough glass-reinforced nylon handle, it’s a surprisingly elegant balance of form and function. And when tucked in its woven polyester sheath, the additional paracord makes for super versatile carry options, just in case you’re headed over a high Himalayan pass with a full pack.
There’s not much that would make a Nepalese warrior jealous, but the KUK™ is another story.

CRKT have produced Kit Carson’s popular M16 line in many variations over the past decade. Their Zytel version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad, and they are exceptional values. The new M16 ZLEK line uses the very successful InterFrame construction, with tough, textured Zytel scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame and solid Zytel back spacers. The handle is assembled with superior offset Torx fasteners. For professional use, a seat belt cutter was added to the Carson Flipper, and a tungsten carbide window breaker at the butt. Automobile side windows shatter with one quick whack from the butt of the knife. All components receive a tough tactical black coating. The Flipper can be pressed for fast one-hand opening, and creates a blade guard when open. Premium AUS 8 high-carbon stainless steel was used for the blades, which have Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges to easily cut rope, cord, canvas, and vegetation.
All three models are fitted with the exclusive patented AutoLAWKS safety, which automatically makes them into virtual fixed blades when the blade is opened and locked.
The “Big Dog” M16 is a hefty 176 grams knife with a 9.5 cm tanto blade that is able to tackle virtually any emergency task. This larger model features a four-position clip, allowing carry on belts or webbing— tip up, tip down, left or right. Please note: These knives are not designed for tip-up in pocket carry.
Full professional features, non-reflective black finish and exceptional affordability: Kit Carson rides again.

In the process of developing our line of Carson special forces G10 M16® and M21TM models, it became apparent that there was a demand for these models from coalition forces serving in desert environments. So here are three models with Desert Tan blade and scales.
Just like their black tactical counterparts, these knives share a unique design offering a combination of Carson SF series features requested by military procurement specialists. All have combined Razor-Sharp and patented (1) VeffTM Serrated edges. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt- up to now rare in folding knives.
Blade and scales are non-reflective Desert Tan. Premium 8Cr14 stainless steel blades receive titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit´s trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. On all models, one-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.
The open InterFrame build uses Desert Tan scales of G10, and stainless steel liners with friction grooves. G10 is often preferred for its aggressive gripping texture, light weight, and the insulating properties which make it cooler in heat and warmer in cold than metal.
All models feature our exclusive patented (2) AutoLAWKSTM safety, which automatically turns the folders into fixed blades when the blade is opened and locked.
M16®-13DSFG Slim Profile G10. This model features a 3.50" (89 mm) dual grind Tanto blade and is ideal when weight and bulk must be kept to a minimum. It weighs only 4.0 ounces.
All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing- tip up, tip down, left or right. (Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.)
They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces desert use.

The stylish drop point blade tears through tasks while grooves on the spine provide you with detailed finger control. It's the perfect combination of strength with finesse. However this knife really shows off when it comes time to open it. An oversized pivot system looks cool and an IKBS™ ball bearing system deploys the blade smoothly and effortlessly.
If you're looking for a knife that gives you the best of both worlds in hunting and everyday carry tasks, the Hootenanny™ is the one to grab.

Kit Carson´s M16® designs continue to be our most popular series, so it was only a matter of time that we filled out the line with a Zytel® InterFrame build version of his Every Day Carry (EDC). Our knife users told us, "The size of the aluminum build EDC is perfect, but I need a more affordable work knife that I can give hard use without feeling guilty, and one that won´t break me up if I leave it on a job site or drop it in the river."
We heard you. So we set about to make the Zytel EDCs the best value in the work and sport knife world.
That starts with textured Zytel® scales and a dual 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame. Assembled with Zytel back spacers and Torx® fasteners, the result is amazingly rigid. Zytel is a fiberglass-filled nylon that offers excellent toughness and resistance to solvents. Teflon® bearings at the blade pivot and an adjustable pivot screw allow for perfect blade action.
Blades are AUS 4 high-carbon stainless steel which gives an ideal combination of toughness and edge-holding ability in a work knife, and also allows easy field-sharpening. Standard models have a bead-blast finish, while our very popular "K" models have a black EDP finish.
The M16®-01Z uses our popular spear point slim profile blade with a Razor-Sharp edge. It is ideal for fine cutting and carving tasks. The M16®-01KZ is the same design with black EDP blade, black frame and hardware.
The M16®-10Z features a dual hollow grind Tanto-style blade with Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-PointTM Serrated edges similar to our "Big Dog" M16 models. The result is maximum blade strength and ability to saw through cord, webbing, nets or vegetation quickly. The M16®-10KZ is again the same design with black EDP blade, black frame and hardware.
Of course, all models feature the Carson Flipper, which speeds opening of the blade and acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.
The real breakthrough was our ability to engineer our patented* AutoLAWKSTM knife safety into all models, which automatically actuates when the blades are open, making these folders into virtual fixed blades when locked.
Add to these features the standard removable Teflon®-plated stainless steel clothing/gear clip plus the CRKT limited lifetime warranty, and you have one of the truly great knife values of our time.

When things start to go sideways, the time to prepare has passed. If there’s anyone that has a completely unique view of preparedness, it’s designer Tom Stokes. As a mechanical engineer, he’s well equipped to rethink and imagine tools that become critical to a survivalist pack. The Knife Maintenance Tool—equipped with two sharpeners and two sizes of TORX—is one of those tools.Tom Stokes dreamt up the jam-packed Knife Maintenance Tool and brought it to life using CAD software in his Williamsburg, Virginia hometown. Small enough to fit on a keychain, it has a ceramic honing edge and a compact tungsten carbide sharpener that are compatible with nearly every folding knife in existence. Two folding TORX tools (T8 and T6) can remedy loose pivot nuts, pocket clip screws, and back spacer screws. A covert flathead screwdriver and a bottle opener come in handy when prying open food containers and cracking open a cold one at the end of a mission accomplished. So lightweight you’ll hardly know you’re carrying it. Until you desperately need it.

The handle has a black G10 inlay for the dark side of the knife. With tip-up clip (r).

Easy to carry. Built for hard use. The experienced eye can take one look at a knife and instantly recognize the work of a master. The dead giveaway: simplicity. With its clean lines, subtle bronze details, and highly-ergonomic build, the Avant™ everyday carry folding knife asserts its position at the top of the pack.
When he’s not creating, Designer Eric Ochs likes to take in the views of his Oregon backyard from over 8,000’. He’s climbed a handful of PNW volcanic peaks and channeled the power of perseverance from these missions into his hardworking designs. The proof is in the flipper opening and the fast, smooth IKBS™ that uses lubed ball bearings in the pivot to deploy the blade at lightning speed. It’s also built with a thumb disk for a more deliberate, manual open. Once it’s deployed, the locking liner adds a solid layer of safety without compromising on ease of one-handed closing capability. The woven carbon fiber handles are compact and solid in the hand and the practical satin-finished spear point blade thrives from the front country to the back. To polish the look, Ochs gave it a bronze pocket clip and pivot detail, earning it serious style points.
Backcountry utility and frontcountry style converge to create the Avant™.
