This sword is one of three exciting versions offered by Hanwei of the sword of Zatoichi, the legendary blind Samurai. The ever-popular black sword #11913, with its fully tempered carbon steel blade is joined by this sword which features a fully-forged straight Katana blade, housed in a natural hardwood scabbard and handle combination, while the superbly folded blade of the Zatoichi sword #11914 is housed in exquisite rosewood.

Tsunami Katana

Each piece in the Tsunami Series is stylized with the renowned Tomoe motif. The tsuba, fuchi, & kashira are made of black iron and marked with the Tomoe crest (mon). The blades are hand-forged from T10 high-carbon steel and are differentially tempered using traditional claying methods. The temper line (hamon) is evident and prominent. Each piece has a deeply lacquered black saya with a one-piece brass habaki construction. Real ray skin (same) is used on the tsuka, and the tsuka-ito and sageo are made of premium woven Japanese black cotton. The katana and wakizashi are constructed with a large o-kissaki. The handle on the tanto is an attractive ribbed buffalo horn. Same skin used for Tsuka of Japanese sword on the wooden handle and under the tsuka ito, the handle wrap. Also it is used for handle of bow and fishing rod. At the moment we can offer 4 different grades of Samekawa, which are different in size, design of the grains and cleanliness. You will get a big piece of same from one fish, the size is about 50 x 25 cm. This is grade No. 4 which is the normal bleached quality.

Tactically black and no frills, the removable durable black G10 handle scales cover a thick full-tang on the Black Oxide coated 9260 Spring Steel blades. The black textured fiberglass sheaths are fitted to a Molle compatible kydex platform that allows you to secure your swords to belt or pack in multiple carry positions. A hole in the end of the scabbard allows drainage in wet environs. A notch in the handle and the platform allows for stealth unsheathing as well as locking the sword securely for inverted maneuvers.
