Product information "High Elven Warrior Sword"

An ancient human-like race of Middle-earth, Elves are noble, elegant and magical beings in harmony with the natural world and its forces. Elves have clearer perception and more heightened awareness than humans, which was a valuable aid when Gil-galad, the last High King of the Noldor, joined Elendil, King of Gondor, to create The Last Alliance of Elves and Men in order to defeat the evil Sauron and his legion of orcs. The army of the Last Alliance won the Battle of Dagorlad. Then, on the slopes of Mount Orodruin, despite heavy losses, the Alliance managed to drive Sauron´s forces back. The Elven sword was unique in Middle-earth, and represented the pinnacle of matching a weapon to the warrior who wielded it. The widely spaced grip was developed by the Elves to give them maximum rotation when moving the sword through the whirling strike that was their own distinctive attacking style. This sword is handcrafted with a real stainless steel blade, however it is a nonfunctional prop replica for display only.

Ein sehr schön anzuschauendes Stück. Allerdings sieht und spürt man, wenn das Schwert in der Hand liegt das der Griff leider nicht aus Leder und Metal sondern aus Kunstharz ist und aus 2 Teilen besteht die zusammen gefügt wurden und dadurch eine unschöne Liene ensteht die über den gesamten Griffrücken geht. Schade, eigendlich ist man von United Cutlery besseres gewohnt. Aber als reines Dekoschwert an der Wand fällt dieser Markel nicht sonderlich auf und macht sich einfach wunderbar in jeder Herr der Ringe Sammlung

Ein wirklich wundervolles Stück! Der einzige Mängel, der leider recht auffallend ist, sobald man das Schwert nicht an der Wand aus der Distanz sondern in der Hand aus der Nähe betratet ist, dass der Griff aus 2 Teilen besteht und diese nicht einmal sehr sauber aneinander gefügt sind. Zudem oder gerade deshalb ist die Klinge auch nicht so stabiel verankert, wie es bei den anderen Modellen der Herr der Ringe und Hobbit Replikate der fall ist. Auf die Distanz jedoch ein wahrer Hingucker!

Sword - Hadhafang

Arwen's sword is called Hadhafang which means Throng-cleaver. It once belonged to the Elven princess Idril, who wed a mortal man and bore Earendil, the father of Elrond who in turn was father to Arwen. Before Arwen's birth Elrond wielded Hadhafang at the end of the second age of Middle-Earth, during the Last Alliance of Elves and Men in the great battle against Sauron. Later his daughter Arwen used Hadhafang when she aided Frodo in his escape from the Ringwraiths. Inscribed on the blade are runes in the Elven language of Sindarin that say "aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen." Which translates to "this blade is called Hadhafang, a noble defense against the enemy throng for a noble lady." The original inscription included the last line "Idril i hel en aran Gond dolen," which translates to "Idril, daughter of the king of the Hidden Rock (Gondolin)." It was dropped from the finished prop due to a lack of space. There is an intentional pun in the inscription - the Sindarin translation of "noble lady" is "Arwen", so in effect, the blade claims to be for Arwen, even though it was made for her grandmother.
