Product information "Heros Axe"
In many myths and folk tales, a hero is a man or woman (then often called a heroine), traditionally the protagonist of a story, legend or saga, commonly possessed of powers far beyond that of a standard human, which enable him or her to perform some truly extraordinary, beneficial deed (an "heroic deed") for which he or she is famous. These powers are sometimes not only of the body but also of the mind. Heroes are typically opposed by villains.

Viking Battle Axe Ragnar
Reproduction of an ornamented axe made of metal and wood.Without any doubt the battle axe is the most characteristic weapon of the Viking warriors; although there were different kinds of axes, the materials were always the same: wood for the handle and iron for the leaf.Initially, it was used as a tool to build boats, houses or cars, but given its versatility, its use extended to the battlefield. Accompanied by a shield, the Viking axe was an especially devastating resource if the enemy had no cavalry, or they didn’t have a large contingent of archers. The sight of Vikings handling this type of weapon caused terror.Ragnar Lodbrok was a legendary Viking king who reigned in the ninth century, in the territories of the current Sweden and Denmark, and was part of numerous raids, both on the European continent and in the British Isles; He is remembered in the Scandinavian tradition for being bloodthirsty, rebellious and having wreaked havoc with the handling of his ax in the territories of present-day England and France. He began with incursions thru the Baltic against the dominions of the Semigalians, Curonias and Sambians. By the year 845 he became one of the greatest Viking warlords. Then he decided to change his objectives and sailed on the Seine river to Paris, ravaging the western part of the Franco Empire and receiving an economic rescue to return the city to the grandson of Charlemagne.Despite being documented as a real character, the existence of Ragnar Lodbrok has not always been absolutely clear. Those of you who have seen the series "Vikings" will know part of the adventures of this Nordic king.Relive the conquests of the Viking king Ragnar with the DENIX reproduction of this axe! English War Hammer
Circa 1530 With the increasing sturdiness of plate armour, the sword became less and less effective against a fully armoured knight. Hammers, axes and maces soon became the weapon of choice for hand-to-hand combat of the mounted knight. The war hammer quickly evolved and became one of the premier weapons. Generally it was lighter and faster than the mace. Often it was made somewhat longer, so that the reach could be extended, but it could be shortened as well if need be. Light, fast and deadly. Details: Total length: 25 1/4" Width-head to spike: 6 1/2" Weight: 1 3/4 lbs.

Viking Great Axe
Viking Great Axe Cold Steel has been a long time believer in the ferocious cutting power of a well-designed Viking Axe. Until recently, they lacked the technical ability to make one to their satisfaction. However, with their new state-of-the-art forging facility, they can offer the customers something truly exceptional. The Viking Great Axe's formidably long, thin blade is fully polished and hand sharpened to a bone-splitting, shield shattering edge. It comes with a robust approx. 25.4 cm cutting surface that terminates in two sharp horns or points. Traditionally, the longer top point was used for stabbing, gouging, or parrying, while the slightly shorter bottom point was used to capture an opponent's shield or to hook and immobilize his neck, arms, or legs. To maximize leverage, strength, and dexterity of movement, the Viking Axe is equipped with a very strong, resilient haft. Made in Maine from the best hickory available, it enhances and amplifies the Viking Axe's lethal potential as a cutting, chopping and stabbing weapon. Details: Overall Length: approx. 132 cm Hawk Length: approx. 24.4 cm Handle Length: aprrox. 121.9 cm Blade Material: 1055 Carbon Handle Material: Hickory Weight: aprrox. 2099.5 g This is an item from the Cold Steel program in 2012.

German Middle Ages silver-colored, 15th century
Reproduction of an axe, made of metal and wood. The axe known as Raven Peak, used by the cavalry in southern Germany, was a short weapon between 50 and 80 cm, which used to have a wooden handle. Its head was formed by a long curved beak, which gave it its name, and an axe blade, lighter than normal. The combat axes of the sixteenth century were the military version of the traditional lumberjack axes, but lighter, in order to wield them more loosely and with a sharper blade for greater effectiveness. It was one of the most powerful and effective cutting weapons of that period, and it was used mainly by nailing it to the shield, thus generating an added weight to the enemy combatants, who were forced to release it while being exposed. At that time, the appearance of plaque armors, led to the specialization of axes, which begin to have a peak on the opposite side of the blade, as well as a vertical blade at its top. This is because the penetration was a determining factor when transferring the armor.Relive the Middle Ages, a period of battles and conquests, with the reproduction of this German fighting axe! Dimensions: 75 cm Weight: 945 g Epoch: Medieval Europe VI-XV C. Type Collectible: Battle-axes & halberds
