Viking Great Axe
Cold Steel has been a long time believer in the ferocious cutting power of a well-designed Viking Axe. Until recently, they lacked the technical ability to make one to their satisfaction. However, with their new state-of-the-art forging facility, they can offer the customers something truly exceptional.

The Viking Great Axe's formidably long, thin blade is fully polished and hand sharpened to a bone-splitting, shield shattering edge. It comes with a robust approx. 25.4 cm cutting surface that terminates in two sharp horns or points. Traditionally, the longer top point was used for stabbing, gouging, or parrying, while the slightly shorter bottom point was used to capture an opponent's shield or to hook and immobilize his neck, arms, or legs.

To maximize leverage, strength, and dexterity of movement, the Viking Axe is equipped with a very strong, resilient haft. Made in Maine from the best hickory available, it enhances and amplifies the Viking Axe's lethal potential as a cutting, chopping and stabbing weapon.

Stimmt schon. Die Montage ist mit der beigefügten Schraube kaum richtig möglich. Ansonsten ist das eine wirklich heftige, schwere Axt. Im Auslieferungszustand bereits scharf genug. Auch der Stiel macht einen guten und wertigen Eindruck. Den Punktabzug allein wegen der buckligen Montage.

Also erst Mal vorab: Die Montage von dem Ding ist ein Krampf. Die Schraubengewinde passen nicht richtig zueinander, ich habe das Ganze nur zusammen bekommen, weil ich im Werkzeugkasten noch eine Schraube mit spitzem Ende hatte, die von der Form gut passt. Abgesehen davon: GEILE AXT! :) Damit einen Schädel bis zur Schulter zu spalten sollte kein sonderliches Problemchen darstellen. Sollte die Zombie-Akopalypse (!) ausbrechen, kann man auch 2 Zombies nebeneinander sicher mit einem Streich enthaupten :) Das Ding ist wie ein gigantisches Fleischerbeil, fürs Holzhacken durch das schmale Klingenprofil allerdings vollkommen ungeeignet, also bloss nicht auf die Idee kommen, das dürfte der Klinge nicht gut bekommen. Der Stahl ist auch nicht der Allerhärteste, was seine Vor- und Nachteile hat. Zu dem Preis ist das allerdings noch ganz ok, für Superstahl müsste man sicherlich etwa das Doppelte hinblättern. Die Hörner der Axt sind auch etwas empfindlich, sollte man nicht gegen Stein etc. stoßen. Dafür kann man damit fast wie mit einem Speer zustechen, womit ein Gegner evtl. nicht rechnet. Macht sicherlich ziemlich fiese Wunden.

The fiercest of the Black Legion were the Barumen Axemen of Lokonia. These were the main vanguard of The Dark One's army, made up of the largest and most ferocious of Barumen soldiers.
