Product information "Katana - Warrior Series"
The Japanese swords of the Imperial Series have proven since their initial introduction almost two years ago, to be quite popular with many of our customers. Still, we are aware that there are some people who want a battle ready sword but hope to find one at a more affordable price.

Our new Warrior Series addresses this problem directly. In our efforts to reduce the costliness of the blades, we have omitted the expensive mirror polishing that we used on the Imperial swords to create a new series of Japanese swords with a more practical finish.

The Warrior Series swords are very handsome in their own right and share the same steel, heat treatment, and sharpness as their more expensive Imperial counterparts. Like the Imperial swords, they have Same covered, cord wrapped handles and quality fittings. The blade features 2 mekugi pegs in the handle and a bo hi on both sides of the blade. If you´re in the market for a strong, good looking, reasonably priced Japanese sword we know you´ll be happy to own one of these.

The right Weapon for the Zombie Apocalypse;-)))))

September 10, 2013 20:35

Maintenance Kit
The Sword Maintenance Kit comes in a lightweight wooden storage box and includes all the essential tools needed for regular blade maintenance. The Uchiko powder ball contains fine polishing powder and is gently tapped along the blade to loosen old oil and surface impurities. The residue is then removed with the included soft microfiber cloth. Finally, apply a thin layer of clove oil to protect the blade against rust and corrosion. Regular maintenance helps prevent fingerprints, moisture damage, and other stains that can permanently affect the blade's finish. This maintenance kit is an essential accessory for collectors, Iaido practitioners, and sword enthusiasts alike. Clove Oil (Tsubaki or Clove Oil) The oil protects the blade from rust by forming a thin protective barrier against humidity and moisture in the air. As the protective film gradually evaporates over time, it is recommended to reapply the oil at least once a month. Uchiko Powder Ball The Uchiko powder ball contains fine polishing powder. By gently tapping both sides of the blade, it loosens old oil, fingerprints, and fine contaminants. When used together with the microfiber cloth, it helps restore a clean and polished blade surface. Microfiber Cloth The soft microfiber cloth is used to remove the Uchiko powder, oil residue, fingerprints, and other contaminants from the blade. It is also ideal for applying a thin, even coat of maintenance oil across the entire blade. Brass Mekugi Remover (Mekuginuki) The brass Mekuginuki is used to remove the bamboo retaining pins (Mekugi) from the sword handle, allowing the sword to be safely disassembled for maintenance. The brass hammer head can be unscrewed from the handle for use. Sword Maintenance InstructionsClean and maintain your sword after every use, whether it has been used for Iaido practice, Tameshigiri, or is simply displayed as part of your collection. 1. Remove Old Oil Use the microfiber cloth to wipe the blade thoroughly from the tip toward the handle, removing old oil and light surface contamination. 2. Apply Uchiko Powder Gently tap both sides of the blade with the Uchiko powder ball. The fine polishing powder helps lift old oil and dirt from the blade's surface. 3. Wipe the Blade Clean Carefully wipe away all Uchiko powder using the microfiber cloth. Repeat the process if necessary until the blade is completely clean. 4. Apply Fresh Oil Apply a small amount of clove oil to the microfiber cloth and spread it evenly over both sides of the blade, working from the tip toward the handle. Only a very thin protective film should remain on the blade. 5. Regular Maintenance Every 3–4 months, it is recommended to disassemble the sword and clean the tang (Nakago) in the same manner before applying a light coat of oil.

Maintenance Kit
The maintainance kit has everything in it which you need for the must of care for your handmade sword. Comes with oil and powder. Oil is used to prevent the rust of the sword. Oil makes a film of the oil between the sword body and the air, and it prevents the oxidization of the sword body. Oil dries in about some time. Therefore, reprint it in the new oil once in a month. The thing which made a whetstone powder-shaped is being packed into the Uchiko. White powder appears from the Uchiko when a sword body is struck with the Uchiko. There are two use purposes. The Uchiko removes the old oil which sticks to the sword body. Furthermore, the Uchiko beautifies the surface of the sword. Nuguigami: The Nuguigami is not just regular paper, it is high quality thick japanese paper for cleaning swords. It is used for wiping out old oil and wiping out the Uchiko. The Mekuginuki is used to remove the Mekugi of the sword. The Mekuginuki can remove the Mekugi with the sharp part. In order to use the Mekuginuki for removing the Mekugi, the hammerhead part can be removed from the rest of the Mekuginuki. How to take care for your sword: How to take care of the sword after an Iaido practices or Tameshigiri will be explained with this topic. Take care of the sword after the practices always. If the care for the sword is neglected, a sword rusts in the sweat of the hand. Face an edge toward the top, and pull out a sword slowly from the sheath. Then, be careful not to damage a sheath. Hold the sword pulled out with your left hand. Then, remove old oil and dust from the sword with the Nuguigami. Put a Nuguigami on the Mune of the sword when wiping the sword, and wipe the sword toward the top from the bottom. Pat a sword body with the Uchiko. Powder equally on the both sides of the sword body. Then, wipe the white powder with the new Nuguigami which is different from the paper used some time ago. Repeat this handle, and remove the blurs of the oil completely. Apply new oil to the sword body, and put away a sword to the sheath. Put the oiling paper on the Mune of the sword when oiling the sword, and oil the sword toward the top from the bottom. Don't oil a sword in quantity very much. Oil equally the both sides of the sword body. If the care for the sword is finished, put a sword in the sword bag, and keep it. Keep a sword in the place where it dries in the shade. How to take care of the sword of this topic isn't perfect. Therefore, remove the hilt once in three months, and care for the tang (Nakago) and so on.The mekuginuki is not included in this cleaning set!
