This new cutting katana from CAS/Hanwei is designed specifically for the martial artist. The Wind & Thunder features a heavier and thicker blade with traditional furniture and fittings. The Wind & Thunder is fitted with the black iron Raiden tsuba and Tomoe motif fuchi and kashira. The handle is wrapped in genuine same (ray skin) and the tsuka-ito is premium Japanese black cotton. The saya is done in a traditional black laquer and the sageo is also black cotton. This sword is an excellent choice for those interested in batto-jutsu.

Dieses Katana ist etwas ganz besonderes, ja es ist etwas schwer, aber nicht so schwer dass man es nicht gut handhaben kann, und es nimmt einfach alles was sich ihm in den Weg stellt, super herausgearbeitet, eine schöne und breite Klinge und mit einer wunderschönen geraden milchigen Hamon, schöne feste echte Rochenhaut, Tsuba, Habaki u. Seppa, Fuchi, Menuki und die Kashira sitzt Bombenfest, die Tsuka-Ito fest gewickelt, die Saya in schönem schwarzglänzendem Design, nichts klappert. Diese Katana ist für den Krieg gemacht auch gegen schwere Rüstungen wie damals gegen die Mongolen geeignet. Manchem mag es zu schwer sein, wer es führen kann will nicht anderes mehr haben, ich habe viele Katana und wirklich harte Cutter, dieses Katana nimmt den ersten Platz ein!! Hier hat man alles, ein wunderschönes Ausstellungsstück und ein richtiges Arbeitstier.

Practical Plus Tanto

The Practical Plus Tanto provides a very economical cutting tanto, but uses more traditional fittings and construction methods. The blade is hand-forged high-carbon steel and differentially tempered using a traditional claying method (HRC 60 edge, HRC 40 spine) with a medium (chu) kissaki. The temper line (hamon) is evident and prominent. The Practical Plus Tanto uses a flat black saya and a black Japanese cotton sageo. The tsuka has genuine ray skin (same) and the tsuka-ito is black synthetic leather for better gripping qualities. The antiqued fittings on this set are decorated in a Japanese dogwood motif with a beautiful antiqued black sunburst tsuba. A great economical tanto with fantastic quality.
