A well-motivated classic. The “kukri”, the Nepalese multipurpose tool made famous by the Gurka Regiment, in service of Her Britannic Majesty and derived from the ancient Greek falcate swords, is nothing more than a machete with an advanced cutting edge. This cutting advancement allows it to replicate the functionality of an axe, while maintaining the versatility of the long blade. Extrema Ratio, managing to blend ancient and modern concepts, has created several tools belonging to this category, among which the KH.
The blade of this machete has differentiated sharpening. Near the handle the blade is razor sharpened, so as to allow the achievement of a narrow sharpening angle without excessively affecting the thickness of the back material which must remain solid. The sharpening at the end of the blade is flat and well angled so as to penetrate wood and vegetation without difficulty.
Usually this type of tool is made of soft steel to be more elastic and easier to sharpen. Extrema Ratio has managed to obtain an elastic tool with a decidedly long-lasting and resistant sharpening by using a hard steel like BÖHLER N690. This machete is equipped with a thigh sheath with a black cordura pocket and a strap for carrying it safely.
KH is available in two variants: BLACK (blade with burnished finish) and SATIN (satin blade).
