Tai Chi Sword

The Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan), known in our region as Chinese Shadow Boxing, is one in Imperial China developed martial art that is practiced by several million people worldwide today and thus is one of the most frequently exercised martial arts. In China, Taijiquan is a national sport. In the city parks you see many people in the morning practicing the slow, flowing movements. As the doctrine of these science applies especially the harmonious interplay of opposites, symbolized by the well-known symbol of yin and yang.

The Chinese sword fighting is one of the most important weapon arts of Taijiquan. The movements of the Tai Chi sword are expressive and elegant. Thereby speed and slowness, hardness and softness complement. It is very important to ensure that all movements are executed in a calm, harmonious and lively way. Sword and body thereby form an inseparable unit. So sword and Qi (inner strength) meld together. The Tai Chi Sword (Jian) is the straight, double-edged Chines sword.
