One of the truths of close quarter combat is that a rifle, shotgun or musket can be an improvised club in the absence of suitable ammunition or a bayonet. It´s also true that an 8-10 lb. rifle, grasped by its long barrel and swung with both hands hits like a freight train and, if it doesn´t break, will crush bones like dry twigs and pulp flesh into jelly. American Indians in the early sixteenth century observed these facts and wasted no time in fashioning their own gunstock war clubs. These were made of specially chosen straight grain hard woods like Maple, Ash, Oak, Hickory or Hornbeam and weighed from two to three pounds. They hit with remarkable force and proved to be extremely lethal weapons as their hitting power was often enhanced by the addition of a short lance point or one or more knife blades. In fact, the Gunstock war club became so popular it soon migrated West to the Great Plains and even the Pacific coast where it endured as a weapon clear into the 1880´s and as a ceremonial and dance weapon to this very day. While there are a fascinating variety of historical examples we could have reproduced, ours was custom designed by blade smith Rich Mc Donald. He incorporated all the best features from our favorite clubs including the ridged centerline, a short lance point, and the classic "Fawn´s Foot" handle. To avoid the risk of cross grain breakage, we have abandoned the traditional hardwoods in favor of Polypropylene. As you may know, this material is highly resistant to shock and is practically unbreakable making it particularly suitable for use in this weapon. And as an added bonus, this material is highly resistant to the elements and won´t warp, rot, shrink crack or splinter the way wood does. For those interested in re-enacting various periods of our frontier history, we have given our weapon a very realistic wood grain finish. This means you can easily customize your club with "cut outs", brass studs, tacks, feathers, horse hair falls or the paint of your choice.

Was für ein phänomenaler Artikel. Gefällt mir besser, als der ebenfalls von Cold Steel erhältliche Indian War Club. Der Dorn aus geschmiedetem Stahl (1055 Karbon Stahl) ist wirklich böse und verdammt spitz. Das verwendete Polypropylen macht den Gunstock War Club zu einer perfekten, nahezu unverwüstlichen "Schlachtkeule".

Siht auf den Videos und Fotos kleiner aus. Ich habe den im Einsatz (Gammelige Palletten, Schrottmöbel,etc.)noch nicht getestet. Der Knüppel liegt sehr gut in der Hand. Das mit der anknotbaren Scheide hätte man vielleicht etwas besser lösen können.

Ich finde das Teil alleine vom aussehen her hammermäßig. Verarbeitung top. Geworfen habe ich das Teil allerdings noch nicht.

Aus irgendwelchen, mir nicht genauer bekannten, physikalischen Gründen scheint diese Keulenform eine der effektivsten überhaupt zu sein. Ich würde behaupten, dass Ding hat sogar mehr Power als ein durchschnittlicher Streitkolben oder eine Streitaxt vom gleichen Gewicht und lässt sich dabei auch noch vergleichsweise gut handhaben. Allerdings sollte man den Kunststoff nicht unbedingt auf harte Steine hauen, die Keule geht davon zwar nicht kaputt, aber es gibt unschöne Schrammen. Einziger, echter Nachteil: Der Stahldorn stellt beim Tragen und Schwingen ein nicht unerhebliches Verletzungsrisiko dar. Am besten die Scheide immer drauf lassen ^^ Wer die Keule mal in Aktion sehen will, dem empfehle ich nach "ZombieGoBoom" bei Youtube zu suchen. :-)

Sieht absolut authentisch aus und ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Liegt gut in der Hand und ist nicht zu schwer. Der Metalldorn ist recht stumpf, was aber auch nicht weiter schlimm ist, da es sich ja um eine Hiebwaffe handelt.

wie man es von cold steel gewönt ist super teil einwenig gröser als erwartet einfach genial ein punkt abzug wegen der (klinge) die ist nämlich richtig stumpf aber sie muss zum werfen oder schlagen nicht so wichtig ^^

Whow.Ein mächtig gewaltiges Stück.Liegt gut in der Hand und man kann damit auch sehr gut werfen.Im eigenen Garten kann man sich mal so richtig damit austoben.Da sollte es auch bleiben.Bis jetzt ist alles am War Club heil geblieben.Das bedeutet,das die Verarbeitung top ist.Prima Sportgerät.

Eine sehr interessante Waffe, gesehen im Film "Der letzte Mohikaner". Gute Verarbeitung (Plastikguss mit Holzoptik) mit einen sehr scharfen Metalldorn. Sie liegt erstaunlich gut in er Hand und würde im Nahkampf wohl fürchterliche Wirkung zeigen, wobei man entscheiden kann ob man mit der Seite mit Dorn schlägt oder auf der anderen. Ein gute Verhältnis von Gewicht und Größe. Kurz gesagt, ein gutes Stück für meine Sammlung darum auch ein sehr gut!
