Product information "Solingen Rapier antiqued"

Based on models of 17th century swept-hilt rapiers of Germanic ancestry, our Solingen Rapier with matching main gauche is an excellent rendition of the timely originals. The blades are constructed of forged high-carbon steel and are equipped with leather scabbards. The guard has a beautiful design with S-curved quillons to protect the hand and for wrapping the fingers around to increase one´s grip strength. This rapier and the matching main gauche blade produced from CAS/Hanwei are now interchangeable with the "Practical" blades, which are designed for safety in rapier sparring. Also available are the normal versions of the Solingen Rapier with matching main gauche.

Hervorragendes Rapier. Liegt sehr gut in der Hand und ist sehr gut verarbeitet.

Der Solingen-Rapier ist genau wie der dazugehörige Linkshanddolch "Solingen-Main Gauche" eine hervorragend gearbeitete Replik. Das Gefäß sitzt bombenfest, die Klinge ist samt Schliff schnurgerade, die Scheide saugt die Klinge förmlich ein und hält sie fest genug. Die beiden Teile bilden derzeit den Blickfang meiner kleinen Sammlung. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist lediglich der Braunton der Scheiden, der meiner Meinung nach eher zu glänzenden Bügeln und Parierstangen als zu den "antiqued" geschwärzten passt.
