Simple buckler from a ﾄThalhoffer Fechtbuchﾓ written by Hans Thalhoffer ( 1420-1490) a master swordsman and duel teacher. This buckler was used in combition with a dagger or small sword. The fluted style allowed the use of thinner sheet metal without weakening the buckler. The lesser weight allowed very fast movements.
