Saracen Falchion

A falchion, fauchon (French) or malchus (German) is a type of sword that was in use from the High Middle Ages to the Renaissance. It features a broad and heavy one edged blade. There are two design types, the cleaver falchion with a blade that broadens to the top, such as a large machete and the cusped falchion with a pointy blade.

This is a Mamluk single handed cusped falchion (sabre). It is also known as saracen falchion.

This sabre is blunt and was constructed for historical fencing. It is made of hardened steel and wood.
