Because of his poor grades, constant bad luck, and lack of athletic ability, Tsunayoshi Sawada is teased by his classmates and called “Loser Tsuna.” He lives alone with his mother while his father travels the world (in service of the Vongola). One day Reborn tells Tsuna that he is the new mafia boss of the Vongola family. Not at all happy about his fate, Tsuna must from then on endure Reborn’s less than gentle teaching methods, and his efforts to recruit new members for the family from among Tsuna’s classmates.
Kyoya Hibari is the leader of the disciplinary committee at Namimori Middle School. He refers to it as “his” school and anyone who gets up to any kind of mischief is punished by him. Just like his subordinates, he is not averse to violence and uses his position to intimidate others. Hibari seems to be the only person who likes the school song, and even uses it as his ringtone. Hibird is his pet bird. He has also become allergic to cherry blossoms, thanks to an infection with the Sakura Kura virus from one of Dr. Shamal’s trident mosquitos. Hibari falls into a depression at the sight of cherry blossoms.
