Exceptional not only for its exquisite beauty, this rapier is reproduced from an original in the collection of Hank Reinhardt. This sword shows off one of the more graceful and sublime designs from a period when no two swords were made exactly alike. (There were often tremendous differences between rapiers because of varying amounts of skill of the blade maker, the hilt maker, and the cutler who assembled them.) This particular swept-hilt design, which is truly a work-of-art, was in use for over a hundred years. This light, fast and quick rapier uses a high carbon steel blade.
