Wado-Ichi-Monji by Roronoa Zoro katana

Geisha’s Blade hand forged and fully sharpened version of the Wado Ichimonji Katana, which is one of the swords of Roronoa Zoro, a character from the popular anime/manga: One Piece. This is a sword of great personal importance to Roronoa Zoro, and it was once Kuina’s and her family’s sword. It is one of the twenty one O Wazamono grade swords (One Piece world). Upon Kuina’s death, Zoro asked for it from her father. As one of the twenty one finest katanas in the One Piece world, Wado Ichimonji is a powerful blade when used by a competent swordsman. It is also quite durable, as shown when Dracule Mihawk’s Kokuto Yoru shattered two of Zoro’s swords, this is the only one that did not break at all. Cutting Seminar - 14.09.2024

It's time again for a new cutting test seminar in Hamburg! A cutting test seminar is planned at Swords and more in Hamburg on September 14th , 2024. The seminar is held at and in cooperation with Wu Dao - School of traditional martial arts in Hamburg Horn. We would be happy to see one or two participants from the first seminars again. For the new seminar we will be purchasing completely new weapons and incorporating many interesting extras. The idea for this seminar arose from the large number of hand-forged swords of various types that Swords and more has in its program. Handling sharp swords is very interesting, but also requires a certain amount of experience and caution. The instructors Manuel Schmidt and Mathias Lojewski have acquired both during years of martial arts training in various areas and will therefore give the participants of this seminar a basic introduction to using sharp swords. Training begins with wooden swords. Later, during the course of the seminar, cutting will be done with European and Japanese swords. This seminar does not claim to be a holistic martial arts training, but rather should be seen as a focus on a very interesting subject area. The seminar is primarily aimed at beginners in handling the sword, but we also welcome “old hands” as participants in order to make the exchange of experiences even more intensive for everyone involved. First, Tatami Omote of simple quality and then Tatami Omote of high quality are cut. You can read about the differences in advance in the item description of the Tatami Omote #11238 and #11424. In Norse mythology Thor or Donar is the God of Clouds, Thunder and Fertility and like all other Aesir he died during the Ragnarök. Only Odin stood above him and more feared. British 1796 Heavy Cavalry Saber

Used by British Lifeguards, Royal Horse Guards, Dragoon Guards and Dragoons through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. It was directly copied from the Austrian Pallasch 1769 heavy cavalry sword. British cavalry officer John Le Marchant attentively made drawings of the weapons carried by the Austrian cavalry during the Low Countries Campaign in 1793-95, and likely was involved in the recommendation of this pattern to his superiors. Notable for its use at Salamanca and Waterloo. Technically the 1796 heavy cavalry sword is a backsword, defined as a sword with a straight blade with one cutting edge and a spine (the "back") thickened for most of its length to give added strength. In fact, this is not a delicately maneuverable sword by any stretch of the imagination, and gained favor as a bludgeoning weapon. Troops also used the guard as a knuckle duster. The blade is forged with a single broad fuller on each side. The grip is of ribbed leather. The basket guard has ears which are riveted through the tang of the blade to give the hilt and blade a very secure connection. The hilt combines a disc guard pierced with 2 semicircular and 6 oval holes, with a single knucklebow and two slim 2-inch-long (51 mm) langets (projections from the guard, which grip the throat of the scabbard) extending from the front of the guard. With the Prepper One series, Pohl Force introduced a completely new knife concept for bushcrafters and outdoor enthusiasts in 2016: Compact in overall size, a blade length that complies with German weapons regulations (below 12 cm) and a hollow handle for storing survival utensils. After just a short time, Dietmar Pohl's design became a real classic in civilian use. In 2023/24, the Prepper One formed the basis for the further development of a completely new generation, which now focuses on the needs of crew members of civilian and, in particular, military aircraft. The term S.E.R.E. (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) refers to the ability to survive, evade, resist and escape. The Prepper S.E.R.E. II was developed with this application profile in mind. The sabre has an overall length of 100 cm. The silver sheath is made of metal and fitted with a metal ring to attach the sheath to the belt. The guard of the handle bar is decorated with oak leaves. The grip is made of black plastic, the surface is finely beaded and wrapped with three silver-plated wires throughout. The lion's head, the temple and guard are made of brass. The narrow band above the guard features a dot decoration at the top and at the bottom. Between the bands, the words "Unity - Justice - Freedom -" should be read. The blade is forged from stainless steel, hardened and tempered. It is approx. 23 mm wide, 810 mm long and slightly curved. A good serviceable point allowed it to be used for thrusting, and a medium weight allowed it to be used easily and carried with equal ease. This weight also allowed it to be used with one hand with a dagger in the other. But when needed, it could be gripped with both hands for a very powerful cut. Pommel and guard are steel. European 14th Century Arming Sword, Royal Armouries Collection

The pommel of this sword looks conventional when viewed dead-on, but turn the sword sideways and an unusual, somewhat conical shape reveals itself. The sword was reputedly found in a peat bog together with another now in Rome and is unusually well preserved. Comparable swords have been found across much of Europe. One-handed arming swords were carried as sidearms by many people at the time, often used with a shield or buckler. They can be seen used with small bucklers in the famous fencing treatise Royal Armouries Ms. I.33, as well as equipping fully armored knights in numerous manuscripts and monuments. This sword could have been carried at the beginning of the Hundred Years War, and it features several very distinctive features. The subtly shaped crossguard curves towards the blade, tapering and then swelling at the terminals, and the distinctive pommel has very particular angles and facets. The hilt sits very comfortably in the hand. The broad leaf-like straight blade is of a flattened-diamond cross-section, double-edged, with a narrow fuller to reduce mass. The width swells slightly where it meets the hilt and the gracefully curved edges finish in an acute thrusting tip.
