Wado-Ichi-Monji by Roronoa Zoro katana

Geisha’s Blade hand forged and fully sharpened version of the Wado Ichimonji Katana, which is one of the swords of Roronoa Zoro, a character from the popular anime/manga: One Piece. This is a sword of great personal importance to Roronoa Zoro, and it was once Kuina’s and her family’s sword. It is one of the twenty one O Wazamono grade swords (One Piece world). Cutting Seminar - 13.07.2024

It's time again for a new cutting test seminar in Hamburg! A cutting test seminar is planned at Swords and more in Hamburg on July 13, 2024. The seminar is held at and in cooperation with Wu Dao - School of traditional martial arts in Hamburg Horn. We would be happy to see one or two participants from the first seminars again. For the new seminar we will be purchasing completely new weapons and incorporating many interesting extras. The idea for this seminar arose from the large number of hand-forged swords of various types that Swords and more has in its program. Handling sharp swords is very interesting, but also requires a certain amount of experience and caution. The instructors Manuel Schmidt and Mathias Lojewski have acquired both during years of martial arts training in various areas and will therefore give the participants of this seminar a basic introduction to using sharp swords. Training begins with wooden swords. Later, during the course of the seminar, cutting will be done with European and Japanese swords. This seminar does not claim to be a holistic martial arts training, but rather should be seen as a focus on a very interesting subject area. The seminar is primarily aimed at beginners in handling the sword, but we also welcome “old hands” as participants in order to make the exchange of experiences even more intensive for everyone involved. First, Tatami Omote of simple quality and then Tatami Omote of high quality are cut. You can read about the differences in advance in the item description of the Tatami Omote #11238 and #11424. Carried by Aegon the Conqueror when he first left Dragonstone for the Seven Kingdoms , Blackfyre was an ancestral sword of his house that became a symbol of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros.Aegon I carried it throughout his reign and used it in many battles, upon his death it was passed on to his heir and successor Aenys. However Aenys gifted it to his younger brother Maegor who was the better warrior and more suited to the blade. Many viewed this as a mistake that legitimized Maegor’s later usurpation of the throne.The sword continued to be used and carried by the Targaryen kings for generations, in peace and in war. Until 182 AC when Aegon IV gifted Blackfyre to his bastard son Daemon, instead of his more scholarly legitimate heir. New German Officers Sabre

The sabre has an overall length of 100 cm. The silver sheath is made of metal and fitted with a metal ring to attach the sheath to the belt. The guard of the handle bar is decorated with oak leaves. The grip is made of black plastic, the surface is finely beaded and wrapped with three silver-plated wires throughout. The lion's head, the temple and guard are made of brass. The narrow band above the guard features a dot decoration at the top and at the bottom. Between the bands, the words "Unity - Justice - Freedom -" should be read. The blade is forged from stainless steel, hardened and tempered. It is approx. 23 mm wide, 810 mm long and slightly curved. Both sides of the blade are finely etched (pattern-welded ) with ornaments and two crossed swords in the middle of the ornament. The eyes of the lion head lights in red color. Geisha’s Blade hand forged and fully sharpened version of the Wado Ichimonji Katana, which is one of the swords of Roronoa Zoro, a character from the popular anime/manga: One Piece. This is a sword of great personal importance to Roronoa Zoro, and it was once Kuina’s and her family’s sword. It is one of the twenty one O Wazamono grade swords (One Piece world). Upon Kuina’s death, Zoro asked for it from her father. As one of the twenty one finest katanas in the One Piece world, Wado Ichimonji is a powerful blade when used by a competent swordsman. It is also quite durable, as shown when Dracule Mihawk’s Kokuto Yoru shattered two of Zoro’s swords, this is the only one that did not break at all. When used by Zoro, this sword is usually placed in his mouth for his Santoryu. When using his Ittoryu, Zoro usually uses this sword for it. British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Saber

Designed by Major-General John Gaspard Le Marchant, the 1796 pattern light cavalry saber was based on Central and Eastern European hussar swords. As a young captain, he observed the clumsy design of the heavy, overly long 1788 Pattern swords. Le Marchant opined that the "blades of the Turks, Mamelukes, Moors, and Hungarians (were) preferable to any other." He gave the blade of this saber a pronounced curve, which made it more adept at cavalry attack methods, and designed it with a widened tip that affected the balance, but made slashes far more brutal. It was issued primarily to British light dragoons and hussars and was also used by the King's German Legion light cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. The blade profile became so popular that the Prussians and other German states emulated its design throughout the 19th century.This exact replica of an original antique weighs only 1 lb, 12 oz, and the blade features an extreme distal taper, enabling it to feel exceptionally lively. Circa 750 The seax, or sax, was universal in Northern Europe. Carried and used by the Saxons, Angles, Vikings and German tribes, its use probably dates before the fall of Rome and continues on into the early Middle Ages. From small knives with 3-4 inch blades to actual swords with blades of 27-28 inches, always single-edged, the profile of the seax varied a great deal. The original version of this large knife served from camp work to cutting work, on shipboard, and for fighting if a sword or axe was not available. The lobed pommel and guard are brass, and the wood grip is studded with brass tacks, for a very secure and comfortable grip. The blade is etched on both sides, flat ground, and capable of taking and holding a razor sharp edge. The leather sheath has been riveted and laced like the originals and features two thong slots. English 15th Century Long Sword, Royal Armouries Collection

This is a reproduction of an early 15th century knightly longsword, believed to have been found in the River Thames before finding its way into the Tower of London collection. Dating to around 1400-1430, this is the sort of hand-and-a-half sword that was often carried by knights and men-at-arms, and it features a two-handed hilt with scent-stopper pommel. The stiff and acutely-tapered blade ends in a robust but slender point. This sword was used in one or two hands, depending on circumstance, and in armored combat the blade could also be gripped in halfswording, to better drive the point into the gaps of an armored opponent, and also to use the crossguard and pommel for wrestling and striking. This is exactly the type of sword that many English knights would have carried at the Battle of Agincourt. The blade of this sword has three transitions, from a hollow ground blunt ricasso next to the guard, to a hexagonal cross-section and finally to the flattened diamond section point. This sword strikes with authority, despite the narrow appearance. This is due to the surprisingly thick spine for most of the length of the blade, making it very stiff, and ideally suited to halfswording and thrusting into things like mail voiders at the armpits of an enemy knight’s armor. A relatively nimble sword, but with more blade presence than you might expect.This replica is crafted with a better blade than the original; the blade is hand forged by a skilled blacksmith exactly in the same manner as the original, but with superior modern 1080 high carbon steel that is fully tempered and is distally tapered for proper weight distribution.The sheath is made to replicate one of the period, with a wood body and covered with leather. The tip is reinforced with a brass chape that features a traditional cut-out. Peace Katana, Blade Length 71.12 cm

Bugei is pleased to announce the introduction of an all new katana -- The "Peace" Sword.The Peace sword is a robust shinogi zukuri katana with an extended chu kissaki. The blade is moderate in thickness and somewhat wide compared to many designs. However, like the original Tadayoshi school sword the Peace sword is based on, the Peace sword has a shallow bo-hi (full sized groove) and a soe-bi (fine groove) running below the shinogi (ridge line). This allows the sword to remain robust and durable with a good cross-sectional thickness all while helping keep the overall weight of the sword down. The sword moves easily in the hands, is extremely sharp, and is still of a robust design for cutting practice. The hamon is deep with vivid nioi and on close inspection you can see the interaction of the suguha with the underlying finely folded steel. It makes for a more subtle but very elegant look. It also gives the sword a serene appearance. Deadly in appearance, but calm and serene. It appears simple, but the closer you look, the more you see. Which are of course attributes that would appeal to the samurai of old. Calm focus. Peace. Understated elegance.The mokko raised rim tsuba was designed to show the original field with a single bleached skull on the ground. The mokko shape was chosen as many practitioners like the fact that the sword doesn't tend to "roll around" when placing the sword down on the mat when preparing or finishing practice. Tsuba with these sorts of designs were appealing to the samurai. One had to accept the invevitability of death in order to transcend the fear of it.The higo style iron fuchi kashira and kojiri were designed with a background of the same field but with the classical higo design element. No skulls here -- just the ground field and grass on the fuchi with the sky represented in a subtle fashion in classical higo style fittings.Higo style brown silk ito was chosen for the wrap with the typical higo blackened samekawa. The menuki chosen were single gold horses.Finally the black gloss saya (scabbard) shows the summer grasses starting to grow. They are hand brushed in gold paint and gradually increase in frequency towards the iron kojiri but never overpower the simple black gloss saya. The custom made sageo (cord on the saya) is black and gold with gold grasses woven into the sageo, carrying the theme. The dimensions on the saya are more like antique saya than modern production saya in these ways.As each sword is hand forged there will be slight variation from one sword to the next. However, we measured the sword pictured above to give basic specification of the sword. The thickness of the sword (kasane) at the habaki is 7mm tapering to 5.5mm at the transition to the tip. The "height" of the sword (motohaba) at the habaki is 32mm tapering to 24mm at the yokote (transition to the tip). The extended chu kissaki is 38mm long. And the blade has a gentle roughly 3/4 inch tori sori. Again, please note that each sword will vary slightly as each sword is hand forged and polished. The sword shown in the Youtube video above is one of the 30" nagasa swords with 14" tsuka. The Peace Sword has been a huge success and sold out our initial orders very quickly. Prepper S.E.R.E. II

With the Prepper One series, Pohl Force introduced a completely new knife concept for bushcrafters and outdoor enthusiasts in 2016: Compact in overall size, a blade length that complies with German weapons regulations (below 12 cm) and a hollow handle for storing survival utensils. After just a short time, Dietmar Pohl's design became a real classic in civilian use. In 2023/24, the Prepper One formed the basis for the further development of a completely new generation, which now focuses on the needs of crew members of civilian and, in particular, military aircraft. The term S.E.R.E. (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) refers to the ability to survive, evade, resist and escape. The Prepper S.E.R.E. II was developed with this application profile in mind. With an overall length of 24.5 cm and a weight of 260 g (without sheath and survival equipment in the handle), it is ideal for equipping a survival vest or a survival pack. The longsword, often called a hand-and-half, saw a great deal of service as a weapon of war, but was also employed a great deal as a civilian weapon of self- defense. Coupled with a dagger, the longsword was an excellent defense against robbers, thieves, footpads, assassins and even some of the robber bands that might roam the countryside. A good serviceable point allowed it to be used for thrusting, and a medium weight allowed it to be used easily and carried with equal ease.
