Product information "Scottish Broad Sword"

The traditional weapon of the highland clansman, these swords have sown fear into the hearts of Englishmen for centuries. Our double edged blade, the Broad Sword, is hand forged and beautifully polished with triple fullers. The stout basket hilt is made of blued steel with a black leather handle, decoratively wrapped in copper wire. The Back Sword is virtually identical to our Scottish Broad Sword. Instead of a double edge blade, it sports a long single edge with a single fuller that runs almost the full length of the blade. It´s a lively blade that cuts very strongly due to its width and "V" shaped cross section. Both swords will pass the stringent British Proof test and come with a wood and leather scabbard that´s complemented by a blued steel chape and throat. If you´re looking for a very stout, sharp basket hilt sword, one of these will surely fit the bill.

absolut geniale verarbeitung und die klinge ist ein echter hingucker. mit diesem kauf macht man absolut nichts falsch

Wie alle Schwerter von Cold Steel überzeugt auch dieses klassische schottische Basket-Hilt durch Aussehen und Funktionalität. Die ersten Schnitttests hat es super absolviert, obwohl der Schliff nicht so "sauscharf" ist, wie er sein könnte. Die Klinge liegt recht ausgewogen in der Hand und erfüllt alle Kriterien, die eine kampftaugliche Klinge erfüllen sollte. Das Innenfutter des Korbgriffes ist glücklicherweise bei dem mir gelieferten Exemplar aus besserem Material, als die Bilder hier zeigen. Einziger Kritikpuntk ist für mich die überflüssige und undekorative Quaste am Griff. Doch diese lässt sich relativ leicht entfernen. Definitiv stellt diese Waffe eine sehr gute Alternative zu den von Hanwei und Windlass angebotenen Klingen schottischer Art dar.

Ein klassisches schottisches Breitschwert mit einem sehr schönen Korb. Die Verarbeitung ist solide und die Klinge liegt sehr gut in der Hand. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist der Schliff, der nicht ganz so scharf ausgeführt ist, wie auf den Videos von Cold Steel. Trotzdem sollte der Sammler zugreifen, solange es das Schwert noch zum Sonderpreis gibt.
