A southern madeiterranean helmet in the "Phrygian" style with its forward pointed peak on the top of the skull it also features an embossed steel faceplate. Copied from a wall painting in the church of Saints John and Paul, Spoleto. Made from two welded halves of 2mm (14 gauge) steel, it features a polished surface with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap.

Based on the Czech Olmutz helmet, ours is constructed from two welded halves of 1.6mm steel. The sal is cut from 3mm steel, again for extra strength, and welded to the helmet bowl. It is then finished in such a way so as to cover any weld marks giving it a seamless look making it look like it was crafted from a single piece of steel. The broad rim was meant to turn away arrows coming from above. Made from two welded handbeaten halves of 2mm (14 guage) steel.
