The Cold Steel Gold Lion Katana represents a Samurai’s “every day carry sword” for personal protection, and the defense of his Lord, his family and his home. Significantly lighter than some of our other heavier-duty Katana, it is not only faster in-hand, but easier and more comfortable to carry when tucked into an Obi and worn all day.
The Katana’s Menuki bears the symbol of the Japanese Shisa (Lion Dog) a guardian or protector - a fitting motif for this beautiful lightweight sword.
Measuring just under thirty inches, the Gold Lion Katana’s blade is made from expertly hand honed and highly polished Damascus steel, with a Hamaguri grind, peaked Iori Mune spine and undulating clay-tempered Hamon.
The black iron Tsuba, Fuchi and Kashira all have gleaming 24 carat gold leaf accents and the handle features white ray-skin and a black silk cord wrap.

A modern legend, the Honshu Boshin Hellfire Damascus Wakizashi fuses proven, time-honored tradition with the best in 21st century innovation. Chic contemporary style and state-of-the-art appointments meld seamlessly with classic form and traditional hand-craftsmanship. Even the Damascus steel - a distinctive hand forged variety with centuries-old roots - is reimagined and reworked for an exciting new look: the boldly hued "Hellfire Damascus Steel." Trading delicate, traditional trappings like ray skin and cord for tough, ultramodern materials like TPR, the Boshin is designed for serious, real-world use. It's remarkably well-balanced and an all-around pleasure to wield, and it boasts savage cutting power that's second to none. The imposing wakizashi blade is rock-solid and impossibly sharp, slicing cleanly through rolled tatami mats, thick bamboo and other tenacious materials – suffering neither crack nor fissure in the process.

Shirasaya refers to a special sword mount, which was formerly used for the gentle keeping of the blade. Especially in times of peace
the blades were ideal protected stored in it. The unvarnished Magnolia wood absorbs the moisture inside the sheath, leads it to the outside
and thus protects against rust. Many Shirasaya were provided with a "Sayagaki", an inscription, which gave information on smith, origin and classification.
On the streets of Japan, the inconspicuous gear without handle and guard, especially in the late 19th Century was used because at that time the Emperor
banned the carrying of Samurai swords. The Shirasaya mount, which was similar to a wooden sword or wooden stick was a clever way to wear the sword unnoticed.
