The New Zatoichi Katana from Hanwei allows you to own a sword inspired by the legend of the blind samurai. Hanwei has completely revamped this sword from the ground up, creating a superb example of this distinctive style of blade.

The new version features a 72.4 cm straight blade made from T10 steel, differentially hardened for traditional katana-like performance. The highly visible genuine hamon emphasizes the blade's traditional construction, while the edge is ground razor sharp.

The edge is hardened to 60 HRC, while the back remains softer at 40 HRC, providing characteristics similar to those of a traditional katana.

The handle and scabbard feature a matte black finish. The sword can be fully disassembled, making it easier to clean and maintain.

The handle measures approximately 28.3 cm, while the sword has an overall length of approximately 102.9 cm. These dimensions provide a well-balanced sword for cutting practice.

When disassembling the sword, take extra care with the habaki, as each one is individually fitted to its specific blade.

Shirasaya refers to a special sword mount, which was formerly used for the gentle keeping of the blade. Especially in times of peace the blades were ideal protected stored in it.
