Product information "SIEGER LONG LIFE. 20 CM RUBY"

This knife sharpener made from synthetic ruby is 20 times harder than hardened steel (20.000 Knoop, approx. 200 HRC). Unusual is the high effectivity (less time exposure) in combination with an extraordinary fine result. Additional this sharpener is more persistent than a diamond sharpener because this is a full material not only a coating. The knife sharpener can be used wet or dry. Please clean with a sponge after use.

Ein hervorragend Schleifwerkzeug! Ein paar Mal über die Klinge ziehen und sie ist (wieder) scharf. Jedoch ist unbedingt darauf zu achten, daß der richtige Schleifwinkel eingehalten wird, da sonst relativ schnell der Schnittwinkel aus der Klinge rausgeschliffen ist. Demnach ist der Messerschärfer besonders für härtere Klingen zu empfehlen. Allerdings saß die schwarze Kunststoffspitze nicht mittig auf dem Schleifrohr so daß ich sie kurz losdrehen und mittig wieder festschrauben musste. Nach dem Schleifen einfach mit Wasser abspülen und der Messerschärfer ist wieder einsatzbereit!

Wer zum Schärfen noch den guten alten Wetzstahl kennt, muss hier zugreifen. Denn im Gegensatz zum gewöhnlichen Stahl kann dieser hier nicht stumpf werden.
