Back by popular demand is this Viking seax, whose long blade is decorated with letters of the runic alphabet. The Vikings believed that runes possessed magical power and often inscribed them into blades to increase power. Copied from one on display at the British Museum. Leather-wrapped handle gives you a firm grip on this surprisingly light and quick weapon.
Runic Long Seax comes with a brown leather scabbard and two back-belt hanging straps.

Klasse Teil

Der Sax wirkt in der hand leichter als man glaubt. Gute Handlage und schöne Balance. Der Griff liegt gut in der Hand was man auf Grund der Wicklung nicht so vermuten würde. Saxe in der Form sind sonst schwer zu bekommen. Absolut Top.

Gut verarbeitet und sehr Schnell in der Handhabung.

Das Sax, welches her angeboten ist, ist sehr Hochwertig verarbeitet und lässt sich sehr leicht und schnell führen, was es zu einem sehr angenehmen Langsax macht! Einzig der Griff ist mir persönlich etwas zu kurz, aber darüber kann ich hinwegsehen ;) 5 von 5!

Das Sax fühlt sich sehr leicht and und ist robust verarbeitet. Der Griff ist ein wenig zu kurz für meine hand, aber dennoch sehr schön verarbeitet, daher verzeihe ich dem Sax dies. Der Stahl ist sehr gut und das Sax ist definitiv pratisch anwendbar. Sehr schönes Stück! Fünf von Fünf Punkten bei mir!

French Napoleonic 1801 Cuirassier Sword

Despite the waning effectiveness of plate armor against the increasing proficiency of firearms, the French cavalry in Napoleon’s army still wore cuirasses - Medieval-style breast and back plates - with mixed success. They were mildly useful for deflecting long-range musket and pistol fire (we emphasize “mildly”), but when combined with an ornate, gorgon-headed helmet that featured plumes and horse-tail hair, the Cuirassier’s battle dress created quite an imposing figure as he charged into the fray. Surviving accounts from British opponents attest to the petrifying spectacle of compact groups of Cuirassiers emerging from behind the French front lines. This is his sword; the French Model 1801 Cuirassier’s sword is a heavy cavalry saber with a straight blade, as the French favored the thrust over slashing or cutting. This replica weighs a little over 3 lbs, the substantial mass needed to accomplish a lance-type thrusting attack.
