This stylish piece is an example of the more robust bascinets used in the 15th century. It features a moveable visor that can be opened both upward and also towards each side thanks to the removable bolts in the hinges. Brass vervelles attached to the rim serve as attachment points for an aventail. Made out of two halves of 2mm (14 gauge) steel, then welded and polished with a padding and covered with cotton (100%) and a leather chin strap.
