By the spring-assisted opening mechanism the blade gets fast in the opened position and locks safe thanks to the Linerlock. A sophisticated technique allows one to carry the knife in the folded state despite the unusual proportions certainly, as a blade guard automatically moves out when folding out of the handle, and covers the tip of the knife.
