Product information "Sword of Thranduil"

The sword of the Elvenking was one of two twin swords crafted for Thranduil by the finest smiths of the Woodland Realm. The blade and flowing hilt are forged with engraved vine and leaf symbols representing the forests of the Greenwood, all forged from a single piece of silver Elven steel. This replica features a stainless steel blade and cast metal hilt with authentic detailing to precisely match the movie prop. It is presented with a wood wall display featuring graphic motif of Thranduil.

Ein lang erwartetes und ersehntes Stück, das fast alle Erwartungen zu 100% erfüllt. winzige Mängel sind leider festzustellen, wie etwar eine leicht unsaubere Arbeit am Griffstück, keine optimale verblendung der Klinge in den Griff sowie einer nicht 100% Verklebung der "Bruchstelle" (ist wohl beabsichtigt der Klingenverziereung. Sonst wirklich wider ein schönes Stück von UC. Man kann es nur weiterempfehlen! Und die genannten Mängel oben erkennt man auch nur, wenn man das Schwert in der Hand hält und genauer betrachtet. Anzumerken ist vielleicht noch, dass das Ding echt schwer ist! also wer vor hat, wie Thranduil selbst zwei davon zu führen, der sollte ordentlich an seinen Armen arbeitetn ;) Leider eine etwas lang verzögerte Lieferung diesmal, auch seitens S&M. Aber auch das ist zu verkraften, wenn man es dann in Händen hält.

Ein absolutes Highlight meiner Sammlung. Extrem hochwertig (wie von UC üblich) verarbeitet. Sieht mit der schön gearbeiteten Wandhalterung sehr edel aus. Kann man jedem Sammler und Schwert-Liebhaber nur empfehlen. Toller Service und schneller Versand von swords-and-more, Danke dafür !

Orcrist - Sword of Thorin Oakenshield

In Third Age of Middle-earth, Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves came upon a troll lair in Rhûdaur. There Thorin found an ancient Elven sword named Orcrist, forged by the high Elves of the West, in Gondolin. Thorin claimed Orcrist for his own and vowed to cleave Goblins with it once again. He wielded the sword through most of the Quest for Erebor, using it against the Goblins of the Misty Mountains. The Goblins called it “Biter” and hated and feared it. The blade of Orcrist features a curved leaf shape on one side, and a straight edge on the other, a fitting design for a blade meant to cleave Orcs and Goblins. Adorning the pommel is an emblem of the heraldry of Ecthelion of the Fountain. The hilt is shaped from the tooth of a dragon. It is unknown if the tooth was acquired prior to the fifth battle of the First Age, or added to the sword with the inscription in the millennia after the Fall of Gondolin, most likely by the Dwarves of the North. Inscriptions on the sword in Elven runes: On the guard is the name Orcrist “Goblin-cleaver”. Blade Inscription (both sides): “The serpent’s tooth”. This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand and used in the motion picture, THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY.
