Ryūgan the Katana, Citrine Yellow

The Ryūgan from Epic Armoury is a LARP katana with an unmistakable presence. Designed for those who appreciate both elegance and efficiency in their LARP weapons, it combines the distinctive silhouette of a traditional katana with a modern construction optimized for fantasy settings and dynamic combat.

The name Ryūgan means “dragon's eye,” reflecting a sword designed around movement, control, and distinctive style. Its streamlined silhouette draws inspiration from traditional katana forms while being refined for fast-paced LARP action.

As the latest addition to the Stronghold Masters range, the Ryūgan has been streamlined and rebalanced compared with earlier versions, making it easier to handle and control. Its blade is made from latex-free, injection-molded EVA foam surrounding a strengthened fiberglass core. A Kevlar-reinforced tip provides additional protection and durability during intensive use.

The slightly slimmer profile makes the Ryūgan particularly well suited to dynamic, high-intensity LARP combat while retaining the characteristic softness and resilience of the Stronghold construction.

The handle follows the traditional appearance of a Japanese katana. A textured canvas wrap is cross-laced into small, squared segments, providing a secure and comfortable grip. This detail is particularly effective during extended sessions or when handling the sword with bare hands, giving the grip a tactile and authentic feel.

The balance sits naturally between the hilt and blade, allowing the Ryūgan to move fluidly without feeling too light during strikes. It is equally at home in LARP combat, cosplay, conventions, photoshoots, and fantasy character portrayals.
