Excalibur Sword, Deep Engraving

Excálibur is the most accepted name of the legendary sword of King Arthur, to which different extraordinary properties have been attributed.

There are several theories regarding the origin of his name. One of the most accepted is that it comes from the Latin “EX Calce Liberatus”, “Liberated from the Stone”. Others consider that Excálibur means "Cut the Steel", referring to one of its many magical properties.

Legend has it that, at the death of King Uther Pendragon, Merlin forged a sword (Excalibur) on the Island of Avalon (Excalibur) and stuck it in a stone in London near a Chapel.

The most widespread legend tells that Arturo managed to get her off the rock by an act of Marlin magic. The sword was stored in a sheath that caused the King not to lose blood when he carried it in battles. Already dying, Arturo commissioned his Knight to throw the sword into the lake where Nimue, the Lady of the Lake lived. When he throws it, a hand dressed in white silk holds it and takes it to the depths.

It is said that the sword rests with the King in Avalon awaiting his return.
