Product information "The Gjermundbu helmet-970 AD, Size XL"
This is the only helmet that may be unmistakeably attributed to Viking armor. It was found in a burial mound near Gjermundbu, Norway in 1943. Dated to around ca. 970 AD, it is now displayed in the Museum of tiol Antiquities (Oldsaksamlinga) in Oslo, Norway. Our replica is constructed of 1.6mm (16 guage) steel and has an adjustable, spider style, leather liner and chinstrap. It comes complete with butted mail aventail.
