A few years ago, Cold Steel® launched a new line of high-quality Japanese swords under the name Emperor series. The customer response was extremely positive, but the thought arose that there are also lovers of Asian naked weapons who want to buy a combat-ready sword at a cheaper price.

The introduction of the Warrior series was the logical answer to this demand. Like the Emperor swords, the models in the Warrior collection are made of 1060 high-performance steel. The hardening and sharpness of the blades are also identical. In order to reduce the production costs, the elaborate high-gloss polishing was dispensed with and a more appropriate finish was chosen. The Warrior collection is the perfect choice to train and perform cut tests (Tameshigiri) without damaging the blade.

RESOLZA is an ancient name, reminiscent of the Italian word for razor. The centuries old Sardinian “resolza” one of the best-known traditional knives in our country – to this day it’s been the constant companion to island farmers and shepherds in their everyday work. It followed them even when they were called to war: chronicles of the Sassari Brigade during World War I mention the knife as part of the troopers’ equipment. Our attempt to revisit this traditional design according to our own standards is meant as a tribute, not to disregard Sardinian craftsmen still practicing the old ways of knife-making and keeping ancestral traditions alive. This RESOLZA retains original measurements and proportions, with a 4.8” blade, but is produced with the usual Extrema Ratio high-end materials and technologies.
