Designed by noted martial artist and teacher Scott M. Rodell, CAS` Chinese Cutting Sword provides a purpose-built weapon for the art of cutting in Chinese Swordsmanship.
Utilizing a special steel formulation and heat treatment regimen developed by Hanwei, the blade optimizes edge hardness and body toughness, ideal characteristics in a cutting sword.
The elegantly simple steel fittings reinforce the swords mission, providing uncluttered lines while still remaining true to tradition.
The black leather-over-cranberry rayskin grip ensures secure handling.
A rosewood scabbard with fittings matching the hilt completes an attractive package.
Scott M. Rodell`s martial arts career includes over 25 years of training in Yang Style Taijiquan. He has trained under several noted Chinese masters, in both the U.S. and China. He is the founding Director of the Great River Taoist Center, headquartered in Washington D.C. with branches across the U.S., Russia, Estonia, Netherlands, Germany and Australia. Rodell is the author of "Chinese Swordsmanship, the Yang Family Taiji Jian Tradition" and "A Practical Guide to Test Cutting for Historical Swordsmanship", both of which are highly recommended.

Knife Master Gil Hibben continues to put out innovative designs, which become legends in their own right! The Hibben Legacy Ulu Knife is a sleek and modern reimagining of the traditional ulu knife, used since ancient times. The 6 1/2” 5Cr15 stainless steel blade has a mirror polished finish that provides a striking contrast to the black pakkawood handle scales, which are secured by stainless steel pins. As attractive and visually pleasing as the Hibben Legacy Ulu Knife is, it is definitely no display piece! The wide and beefy blade is keenly sharp, allowing you to put it up against any slicing or cutting task whether it’s at home or on the hunt. The ulu knife is protected by a black leather belt sheath with an embossed Hibben logo and a secure snap closure. This is an absolute must-have for your Gil Hibben collection!

If you were suddenly castaway on a desert island or stranded in the wilderness or a jungle, what's the one tool you would want at your side? The answer is a good machete. You see the machete, over the last three centuries, has proven to be the ultimate outdoor and survival tool. It will cut, chop, slash, hack, split, scrape, scoop, hammer, dig, crush, carve, whittle, crack or smash just about anything you can put in front of it. The machete also makes a deadly improvised weapon. It can be used to kill both fish and game and will gut, scale, filet, skin, quarter, and butcher them for the table as well. And when you look at its meager cost, it's got to be one of the best bargains for hard earned cash in the world. In fact it's so cheap and useful that even the poorest peasant in South America or tribesman in Africa invariably owns one and counts on it as one of his most precious possessions.
These blades are made out of
65Mn
Carbon Steel with a tough spring temper and are surfaced with a black, baked-on anti-rust finish. Each Cold Steel® machete comes with a good utility edge which, with just a little work, can be made hair shaving sharp. The tough, Polypropylene handles of the machetes are designed to provide a comfortable secure grip, and they are rugged enough to resist chipping, cracking or breaking, so they last practically forever.
There's no single edged weapon that we can think of that can out-chop or out-cut a good Kukri. It's true that the best Kukris, like the LTC and Gurkha models, can be somewhat expensive. While those "thoroughbreds" perform extraordinarily well for the money that they cost, it sometimes seems that what's required is a good, inexpensive, "workhorse" model. This Kukri Machete is one of those workhorses and ready to plow through the toughest chores life can dish out. Each features the distinctive weight-forward balance of Cold Steels "top-of-the-line" models, and always present their edge on an angle so they're guaranteed to "bite" deep with every stroke. Additionally, they come complete with a sturdy Cor-Ex™ sheath!
They're a solid value, ready for long, hard work.
