John Lee Red Wood Wakizashi
Due to popular demand, the Red Wood Iaito is now offered as Wakizashi. Thus, this beautiful training sword training is now available to the wider public. The name derives from the dull, brownish-red lacquered sheath, in which the grain of the wood is still clearly visible. The sword blade in Shinogi-Zukuri style has a groove (Bo-Hi), is hand forged, blunt and made of 420 stainless steel. The handle wrapping is made of black cotton in a classic Hineri Maki style. In the red-brown, matt lacquered sheath in Cha-Sti Ishimi style the wood grain is still visible. Due to the long tang, which is fixed in the handle with two bamboo pins (Mekugi), the sword is fully demountable. There is no plastic used, only high-quality, authentic materials are used. The blade clamp (Habaki) and washers (Seppa) are made of brass. The traditional handle wrapping is lined with authentic ray skin. All decorations (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are made of metal. Supplied with protective fabric cover in a nice collectors box. Each original John Lee sword features a seal and a certificate. Details: Overall length (without sheath): approx. 78 cm Blade length: approx. 52.5 cm Handle Length: approx. 25 cm Blade Material: 420 steel Handle Material: Cotton wrapping lined with ray skin Weight (without sheath): approx. 880 g

Anglo-Saxon Scramasax
A scramseax (also scramsax, scramseaxe, scramaseax, scramasax, scramaseaxe and sometimes referred to as simply scram, seax or sax) was a type of Germanic single-edged knife. Scramseax seem to have been used for warfare and as a tool. They occur in a size range from 2.9" to 29.5". The larger ones (langseax) were probably weapons, the smaller ones (hadseax) tools, intermediate sized ones serving a dual purpose. Wearing a scramseax may have been indicative of freemanship. The scramseax was worn in a horizontal sheath at the front of the belt. Scram refers to food and seax to a blade (so, "food knife"). There is some debate about the authenticity of the longer word scramseax. The Saxons may have derived their name from seax (the implement for which they were known) in much the same way that the Franks were named for their francisca. This claim is largely supported by the appearance of scramaseaxes in early Saxon heraldry. The Generation2 version is based off a 6th century version. The Blade is 5160 tempered carbon steel with a darkwood handle. The tang is peened over top the metal end cap of the handle. A hand stiched Leather scabbard is included. This dagger comes with a sharp blade. Blade length: 12 1/2" Overall length: 19 1/8" Balance Point: 1 1/2" Below steel band. Weight: 1 lbs. 4 oz.
