Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson has been exploring the potential of the Kukri for over two decades. It's hard to find a more versatile knife. A stalwart ally in a tight spot and an indispensable survival tool, a good Kukri is truly apocalypse proof! When he chose to design a new Kukri Lynn looked to his many hours fighting in Cold Steel's training facility for inspiration. Where other companies look to hired help for their "knowledge", standing on the shoulders of giants, Lynn and his team invested their own blood, sweat and tears, endlessly sparring with different prototypes looking for ways to improve upon this already near perfect design. Lynn recognized that many of the qualities that make a great fighting knife also make a great bushcraft tool.

A sharp blade, strong tip, good hand protection and a versatile handle are all key. Stripping the Kukri back to its bare basics he then began re-designing the knife from the ground up. The re-imagined blade was presented at an entirely new angle, keeping the cutting power that made the Kukri the stuff of legend, but increasing its thrusting and piercing power. The handle with its integral guard kept the user's precious digits safe from harm while changing the balance and heft of the knife considerably. The newly christened Royal Kukri was then extensively field-tested. Proving to be an outstanding multi-functional bush knife. Capable of the toughest bushcraft chores, from chopping firewood to dispatching wounded game, it also provided the comfort of a last resort self defense option.

With a rust resistant baked on matte black coating, the fully sharpened 1055 Carbon Steel blade is safely and securely held in a sturdy Cor-Ex sheath.

Die Machete ist Top u. Solide verarbeitet (Cold Steel Qualität eben), schön schlicht und mit einer guten Grundschärfe ausgestattent. Zum Stahl ist zu sagen das er sehr Wiederstandsfähig ist und sich super nachschärfen lässt, ist allerdings Rostanfällig (also nach div. Ausdünnungsarbeiten Klinge abtrocknen und immer schön Ölen ;). Bei der Scheide gibts auch nichts zu Mäckeln, ebenfalls gut verarbeitet und stabil. Ich finde das Teil jedenfalls Top und geb ne klare Kaufempfehlung.

Sehr tolle Kukri-Machete, liegt super in der Hand und kommt mit einer guten Grundschärfe. Ist nicht zu leicht und auch nicht zu schwer. Entwickelt eine super Hiebkraft dank der Krümmung. Für den Preis kann man nix falsch machen. ein echtes Arbeitstier!

Dragonfly Katana - Unokubi Zukuri

Our dragonfly Katana (Unokubi Zukuri) is part of the Ronin class and is forged of 1060 steel. The blade is sharply polished and forged in the style of Unokubi Zukuri, which was derived from Naginata and later transferred to other weapons like the Katana. The blade form makes the blade lighter because less steel was used, which therefore makes the sword the perfect Katana for cutting. The blade hardness is 55 HRC and was tested and confirmed in a laboratory in Germany. The ito wrapping was done in black silk and it was applied to the real ray skin on the handle. The handle and blade are bound by 3 Mekugi for a solid fit of the hilt on the tang. The fittings of the Tsuba, Fuchi, Kashira and Menuki are done in black iron and displays the well-known dragonfly theme. In ancient Japan the dragonfly was revered by the Samurai, because it only flew forwards and never back. The dragonfly is considered a sign of determination and courage, and so mirrors the essence of the Samurai existence. Zaraki Kenpachi is the captain of the 11th division, he is ruthless, strong, fierce and scary. He fights for himself and wants to become stronger as well. Even though he doesn’t know his swords name, this doesn’t mean his power is to be taken lightly. His astonishing spirit force is more than enough to make him part of the Gotei 13. His spirit force is so grand that he can’t control it, which is why he wears the eyes patch. It eats his spirit force so he doesn’t go all out on his opponents. He has shown that he loves to fight. Fighting is everything to him; the stronger his opponent is will make his fight much more enjoyable. Even if he’s at risk of dying he won’t back up on a fight. Appearance: Wears the normal Death god outfit and over it he wears the 11th division robe. Zaraki has a funky hairdo he spikes his hair and at the tips he adds bells. Why does he do this? Our Miyamoto Musashi Katana BoHi is part of the Ronin class and is forged from 1060 steel. The blade has been polished sharply and has a BoHi on it. The blade hardness is 55 HRC and was tested and confirmed in a laboratory in Germany. The ito wrapping is made of black silk and was applied to the real ray skin on the handle. The Tsuba displays a double ring design which is always associated with Miyamoto Musashi. The handle and blade are bound by 2 Mekugi for solid fit of the handle on the tang. For the fittings we choose simple black iron mountings for the Kashira and Fuchi without any adornment. Just as Musashi dedicated most of his life solely to combat, so the fittings of this Katana should not distract from that which is fundamental. This sword is a reasonably priced basic model intended only for cutting. Now some may say that this design is much too plain.
