Cold Steels Garden & Camp Machete is the interpretation of a much-used agricultural tool from Africa. Cold Steels President Lynn C Thompson has used them for many years, building blinds and hides and cutting grass when prepping shelters during his time hunting in Africa. He was impressed by their simple, utilitarian design and he soon realized that he always made sure there was at least one of these tools on hand before embarking on any prolonged hunting trip. It therefore made a lot of sense for him to begin exploring his own version of this African tool for an international audience.

Incredibly intuitive to use, the Garden & Camp Machete is a quick study in economy of motion. By slightly bending your knees and leisurely swinging the machete with a back and forth motion, you can make short work of many cutting tasks.

Use it to trim the grass and weeds from your garden, or as a lightweight and handy cutting tool to clear brush from camp sites, hunting blinds and shooting lanes. Use it as a probe in long grass to look for obstructions, obstacles or varmints. In a last ditch self-defense situation the Garden & Camp Machete is lighting fast, with exceptional reach and a formidable cutting edge that can strike from many different angles.

Its strong, sharp and long double edged blade is super lightweight and a breeze to carry and use all day. Excellent garden tool

I am familiar with these from my time in Africa and was very pleased to find one for sale in Europe. It's a great gardening tool that works exceptionally well on long grass.

Ich habe mir dieses Werkzeug für ein verwildertes Landstück gekauft, um der dortigen Vegetation aus Brennnesseln, Springkraut, Schlingpflanzen, Dornbüschen und Pflanzen mit dünnem verrholztem Stengel Einhalt zu gebieten. Die Machete schafft dies auch mit dem nötigen Abstand zum Gewächs (ich hatte vorher eine manuelle Heckenschere benutzt). Dass der Kraftaufwand nicht unerheblich sein wird war mir zwar klar, was mir jedoch entgegen der sonst soliden Verarbeitung Probleme berreitet ist die doch recht kurze Klinge. Die Klingenlänge wird hier zwar von Spitze bis Griff angegeben, tatsächlich ist sie aber nur bis kurz nach der Biegung scharf geschliffen. Bis zum Griff wäre die Schärfung gefählich und unnötig für diese Art von Machete, aber 10 cm mehr Schneide wären für die gröberen Arbeiten an dichter Vegetation hilfreich gewesen. In diesem Rahmen schlagen die Gewächse an, die bei nicht so exakt gezielten Schwüngen oder schnellerem vVranschreiten getroffen werden. Ich denke aber mal, dass das einem rechtlichen Problem geschuldet ist und die Machtete dann nicht mehr so leicht als Arbeitsgerät verkauft hätte werden können.

Eine Preis-Leistunngstechnisch hervorragende Machete, welche gut für den Garten und das Campen eingesetzt werden kann, ich bin mit meinem Kauf zufrieden. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass sie Schärfer sein könnte und dass der Stahl mir ein wenig zu Weich wirkt, denn als ich mit der Klinge beim versuch Gras zu schneiden Gras zu Schneiden leicht gegen einen Stein gekommen bin, hatte die Klinge gleich eine kleine einkerbung, welche ich allerdings inzwischen rausgeschliffen habe. Dennoch Möchte ich die Machete gut bewerten, da sie sehr solide verarbeitet ist (nichts Wackelt) und ich sie vom Preis leistungsverhältniss absolut perfekt finde.

Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut! Für kleinere, trockene Rasenflächen, Sträucher etc. sehr brauchbar. Einzig der Griff könnte etwas mehr Halt bieten, bei weiten Schwüngen, aber es ist noch im Rahmen. Für den Preis kann man echt nicht meckern.

Gladius Thrower

Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson has been training and experimenting with throwing knives for over three decades. Although Lynn has trained competition style throwing, his personal interests have always been grounded in combative application. Thai Machete

Taking inspiration from Thai swords in his personal collection and from his extensive training in the Thai Martial Arts, Lynn Thompson began exploring his own interpretation of a Thai sword in Cold Steels Machete format. Lynn has been an active practitioner of Thai Martial Arts since the early 1980s. Studying Thai Boxing with Bill Berg and the late Ernie Franco before exploring Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong in greater depth with his current training partner and instructor of over 13 years, Ron Balicki. The Thai Machete represents the culmination of over 4 years of development and refinement. Like the Thai swords that inspired it, the Machete is beautifully balanced, with a keen cutting edge and sharp tip.
