The technically best solution to meet this requirement is a construction with an automatic thrust blade (OTF, short for Out-of-The-Front) with a robustly constructed and carefully crafted mechanism. This poses a legal challenge for manufacturers in Germany, because according to the German Weapons Act, OTF knives are initially prohibited (WaffG §1 Paragraph 4 in conjunction with Annex 1 Section 1 Subsection 2.1.1).
