Product information "Charles V Sword - Brass"
Charles V (1500–1558), also known as Charles I of Spain (Spanish: Carlos I), was a Duke of Burgundy and Holy Roman Emperor. He was ruler of both the Spanish Empire from 1516 and Holy Roman Empire from 1519, as well as of the Netherlands from 1506, until he voluntarily stepped down from these and other positions by a series of abdications between 1554 and 1556. Through inheritance, he brought together under his rule extensive territories in western, central, and southern Europe, and the Spanish colonies in the Americas and Asia. As a result, his domains spanned nearly four million square kilometers, and were the first to be described as "the empire on which the sun never sets".

He has known in his time as “The Emperor”, as no other king reached to unify under his rule such an immense empire.

He inherited from his grandparents, the Catholic Kings: Spain, America, Naples and Sicily; from Maximilian of Austria: Flanders and Austria. In 1519 was crowned “Roman Emperor”, ruling the biggest empire since Charlemagne’s age.

It is one of the most spectacular swords in the history of Spain.

Exceptional replica, Deluxe Edition Claymore Carlos I of Spain and V of Germany, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Decorated with the shield of the Hapsburg Empire and Castilla-Leon-Granada, Aragon-Sicily, Austria, Burgundy, Brabant, Flanders and Tirol.

Italian Long Sword
The era of the long sword spanned almost three centuries (approximately 1350 to 1650). This, undoubtedly, was because it really worked! It featured a distinctive cruciform hilt and a long, double edged blade and was equally adept at opposing both light and heavily armored foes. You see, its extra long blade offered the reach and leverage for powerful stabbing, cutting and chopping strokes while its long cross guard and heavy pommel were useful for hooking, striking and smashing. When heavy plate armour was encountered, blows with the edge were marginally effective and were often abandoned in favour of a "Half-Swording" technique; where one hand grips the hilt and the other the blade to better direct the point in powerful jabs, and to more accurately thrust at the small gaps and joints present in a suit of armour. Having read S.M. Sterling's "Change" series of science fiction novels about a world that loses 600 years of technological evolution overnight (an event called "The Change") at least a dozen times each, has left the President of Cold Steel, Lynn C. Thompson, quite taken with the many virtues of the Long Sword and inspired him to make a Cold Steel variation. Modeled on the Italian concept of sword design, the blade and balance slightly favors thrusting attacks, however, its cutting edges are astonishingly effective too and can deliver some down right ferocious blows. Additionally, its simple cruciform hilt is also all business with a long upturned cross guard, leather-over-wood grip, and a counter balancing fish tail pommel. Fast as a frog¹s tongue the Italian Sword is deadly in a fight and built like a tank. Details: Weight: approx. 1194 g Overall Length: approx. 114 cm Blade Length: approx. 90 cm Blade Material: 1055 Carbon Handle Length: approx. 24 cm Scabbard: Leather/ Wood Scabbard with steel fittings This sword fits to the Italian Dagger # 13856.

Fast as a frog¹s tongue the Italian Sword is deadly in a fight and built like a tank. Since the Italian Long Sword is light and well balanced enough to use in one hand we thought we'd offer a companion dagger to take the place of a shield, targe or buckler. Scaled down in size but almost identical in appearance its sharply tapered, double edged blade slightly favors attacks with the point over the edge and is stiff and strong enough to parry any sword. Details: Weight: approx. 485 g Overall Length: approx. 49 cm Blade Length: approx. 32.4 cm Blade Material: 1055 Carbon Handle Length: approx. 16 cm Scabbard: Leather Scabbard with steel fittings This dagger fits to the Italian Long Sword # 13857.

Signature Series - Sword of Roven
Introducing the Signature Series by Windlass! Some of our all-time favorites, reissued by Windlass Steelcrafts® with several upgrades! The blade has improved distal taper, making the sword livelier and quicker. The scabbard now has a wooden core underneath the leather exterior. The grip features leather that is dimpled using a historically authentic "wet-wrap" process, during which fine cord is tightly wrapped around a wet leather grip. When it's dry, the cord is removed and the leather is left attractively indented and provides improved texture and grip. Despite having several names - War Sword, Great Sword, Long Sword and even Two-Hand Sword (thus causing some confusion among collectors) - the large sword was quite a popular weapon. This sword has great length giving it both reach and power. As the length increased the velocity increased substantially. However, with the addition of the long ricasso, the sword became even more formidable. The ricasso allowed the sword to be gripped past the guard, thus shortening the sword and allowing it to be used as short spear. This made a thrust more solid since the blade is held securely at two separate points. Our version of this sword is as formidable weapon as the originals. The Sword of Roven has a high carbon steel blade tempered to a tough spring, the grip is cord-wrapped wood wrapped with brownish black leather, and the pommel and guard are steel. Comes complete with leather scabbard. This is an interesting sword type that belongs in all collections of swords. SPECIFICATIONS: Overall: 47-3/4" Blade Length: 37-3/4" Blade Width: 1-13/16" Blade Thickness: 5/32" Blade Distal Taper: 3/32" Point of Balance: 6-11/16” from guard. Wt. 3 lbs, 2 oz Material: 1075 High Carbon Steel
