Product information "Kettle Hat -Mid/Lat 15th Century, Size M"

Often called a chapel-de-fer, this type of helmet saw use during the latter years of the 15th century. Similar in appearance to the spangenhelmet, this hat features a small ridge and and a broad rim which was meant to turn away arrows coming from above. Made from two welded halves of 2mm (14 guage) steel, it features a polished surface with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap.
