Higo Munekage Shirasaya Katana

We forged this shirasaya katana based on a model Higo Munekage from the year 1836.

The blade is forged of T10 steel and features a very intense hamon, which has been visibly polished again after the yokote. The hardness as always is 60/40 HRC and the blade has been very sharply polished. On the blade there are two narrow hi that form a sword towards the center of the blade and are then interrupted by bonji. The hi then run further into the 8 cm large o-kissaki.

The blade decoration is found on both the ura and omote sides of the katana.

The hamon is very prominent and the blade is very sharp, which make this shirasaya katana the perfect sword to expand your collection.
