Product information "Practical Katana"
The ever-popular Practical Katana gives the martial artist the opportunity to own and use a Hanwei sword at the cost of an economy katana sword. The blades are forged and differentially hardened, using the same process as the more expensive katana blades and producing an HRC 60 edge and HRC 40 back. The temper line is authentic and prominent.

Cost savings are effected by using fittings which, while making no claims to authenticity, are very strongly built to withstand the rigors of cutting exercises in the dojo. The Practical Wakizashi and Practical Tanto match the katana and provide a useful and economical set.

Please note: the katana, wakizashi or tanto’s sageo (cord) on the saya (scabbard) may not be wrapped as pictured. Sageo color may vary.

Sehr schöne Verarbeitung, Klinge scharf, den Preis absolut wert

August 29, 2013 13:58

HERZLICHEN DANK.

Absolut tolles Einsteigerschwert.

December 26, 2006 15:17

A.P.O.C. Survival Katana
Before the seven seals are torn away... CAS proudly introduces the A.P.O.C. Swords from Dragon King. Whether it be plague, natural disaster, mass hysteria, nuclear fallout, zombies, alien invasion or mankind’s inevitable A.I. war, these tactical swords feature a meek and functional design against unremitting maintenance and corrosion in those bleak future days. But such thought in design are expected from combining the expertise of the artisans of Dragon King and the mind of sword maker, Gus Trim. Tactically black and no frills, the removable durable black G10 handle scales cover a thick full-tang on the Black Oxide coated 9260 Spring Steel blades. The black textured fiberglass sheaths are fitted to a Molle compatible kydex platform that allows you to secure your swords to belt or pack in multiple carry positions. A hole in the end of the scabbard allows drainage in wet environs. A notch in the handle and the platform allows for stealth unsheathing as well as locking the sword securely for inverted maneuvers. No preparations for the end times are complete without an A.P.O.C. tactical sword for when the bullets run out, the knives are too short and your life is on the line. The A.P.O.C. Katana at a glance looks atypical except for the classic Japanese styled blade. But fans of Gus Trim will recognize his subtle style and perfection in a design that’s historically atypical for this famed sword maker. When he was still making this sword, Gus called this model the "Little Tigress" and it's easy to see why. The 11 3/8” full tang G10 handle glides gently in the hand as the handle slabs, rivets and blade profile are effortlessly flush all around preventing blisters or lesions which eliminates a big problem when combatting in an infectious environment. The hooked guard prevents your fingers from sliding onto the blade edge. The 23 1/2" blade edge and contour features another Atrim profiling feature allowing precise cuts and slices. At 36 5/8” overall and 2 lbs 6 oz the A.P.O.C. Katana is hefty enough to split skulls and sever limbs but light enough to not hinder a valiant retreat. Specifications Overall: 36 5/8" Blade Length: 23 1/2" Handle Length: 11 3/8" Weight: 2 lbs 6 oz Point of Balance: 2" Blade Steel: 9260 Thickness of blade: 4mm Handle Material: G10

Maintenance Kit
The maintainance kit has everything in it which you need for the must of care for your handmade sword. Comes with oil and powder. Oil is used to prevent the rust of the sword. Oil makes a film of the oil between the sword body and the air, and it prevents the oxidization of the sword body. Oil dries in about some time. Therefore, reprint it in the new oil once in a month. The thing which made a whetstone powder-shaped is being packed into the Uchiko. White powder appears from the Uchiko when a sword body is struck with the Uchiko. There are two use purposes. The Uchiko removes the old oil which sticks to the sword body. Furthermore, the Uchiko beautifies the surface of the sword. Nuguigami: The Nuguigami is not just regular paper, it is high quality thick japanese paper for cleaning swords. It is used for wiping out old oil and wiping out the Uchiko. The Mekuginuki is used to remove the Mekugi of the sword. The Mekuginuki can remove the Mekugi with the sharp part. In order to use the Mekuginuki for removing the Mekugi, the hammerhead part can be removed from the rest of the Mekuginuki. How to take care for your sword: How to take care of the sword after an Iaido practices or Tameshigiri will be explained with this topic. Take care of the sword after the practices always. If the care for the sword is neglected, a sword rusts in the sweat of the hand. Face an edge toward the top, and pull out a sword slowly from the sheath. Then, be careful not to damage a sheath. Hold the sword pulled out with your left hand. Then, remove old oil and dust from the sword with the Nuguigami. Put a Nuguigami on the Mune of the sword when wiping the sword, and wipe the sword toward the top from the bottom. Pat a sword body with the Uchiko. Powder equally on the both sides of the sword body. Then, wipe the white powder with the new Nuguigami which is different from the paper used some time ago. Repeat this handle, and remove the blurs of the oil completely. Apply new oil to the sword body, and put away a sword to the sheath. Put the oiling paper on the Mune of the sword when oiling the sword, and oil the sword toward the top from the bottom. Don't oil a sword in quantity very much. Oil equally the both sides of the sword body. If the care for the sword is finished, put a sword in the sword bag, and keep it. Keep a sword in the place where it dries in the shade. How to take care of the sword of this topic isn't perfect. Therefore, remove the hilt once in three months, and care for the tang (Nakago) and so on.
