Product information "Arming Jacket 14th C./Early 15th C. - Black, Size XL"
Arming jacks were an extremely common sight on the Medieval battlefieds of the 14th and 15th centuries. A shorter form of gambeson, they could be worn both over a mail shirt, or under it. They could even be used as a stand alone armour in their own right, and quite often they were. Their look is enhanced with a pair of jack chains. Our jacks are constructed with an inner lining and outer shell of 100% cotton. They are padded with layers of woolen blankets.
