Rillet Rapier, Black - 85cm
Epic Armoury's Rillet Rapier from the Vanguard line takes its design inspiration from Renaissance rapiers. Unlike the highly ornamental blades associated with the courts of Europe, this model draws more heavily from the rapiers traditionally used for combat and warfare, giving it a practical and historically grounded appearance.
The specially designed guard provides comprehensive hand protection. It protects the top of the hand like a conventional crossguard while also shielding the fingers in a manner similar to a basket hilt.
The grooved handle improves grip and provides secure, controlled handling. The chappe, or rain guard, is positioned inside the crossguard and features decorative engravings resembling curling vines. Matching engravings surround the globe-shaped pommel, continuing the floral design language of the chappe.
The blade is made from closed-cell polyurethane foam and carefully shaped and colored to achieve a highly realistic appearance. This makes the Rillet Rapier an excellent choice for Renaissance, historical, and fantasy LARP characters.
Like all LARP weapons in the Vanguard line, the Rillet Rapier requires virtually no maintenance beyond regular inspections for signs of wear such as cuts or breaks.
The black Rillet Rapier in the 85 cm version is also available in Light Wood & Gold and in a longer 103 cm version.
