SELVANS S600 BLACK

Selvans S600 Black is a new version of the iconic Selvans survival knife, featuring a total black design and made of Böhler S600 steel with a hardness of 64 HRC. The Selvans line is now enriched with a new version, offering a model enhanced by the extraordinary features of S600 steel – great for facing any challenge in extreme environments.

Selvans S600 Black is ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities, such as cutting thick branches, processing materials to build shelters and everything that requires a highly versatile and resistant field knife. This tool is designed to adapt to any situation, ensuring excellent performance even in the most difficult conditions.

The black Forprene handle guarantees a safe and comfortable grip, even when used with wet hands or with work and winter gloves.

The blade is 160 mm (6.3”) long and 6.3 mm (0.2”) thick; it is particularly suitable for chopping, ensuring precise and powerful blows. In addition, its robustness and resistance also make it ideal for batoning, allowing it to be used without risking damaging the edge. It is a blade designed to endure intense workloads, maintaining high performance in every situation.

Böhler S600 (64 HRC) steel is used for manufacturing metalwork and stamp-creation tools.

The high content of molybdenum, tungsten, and a good presence of vanadium in its chemical composition provide excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small uniformly distributed carbides, a feature that further improves wear resistance. Selvans S600 Black is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC; this makes it very resistant to wear and gives the edge a lasting sharpening. Böhler S600 has 4.5% of chrome, which makes it oxidizable. For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK Teflon-based finish.

Selvans S600 Black comes with a black Cordura thigh sheath, equipped with MOLLE fixing system that allows to attach it to backpacks and tactical jackets, ensuring a practical and versatile carry.
