The new Pocket Bushman is small enough to carry it with you everywhere you go.

True, it may be physically impossible for any folding knife to ever match the strength and rigidity of a fixed blade. However, the Pocket Bushman, with its new lock, is close to hitting the mark. The blade is long and wide with a short, sharp, clip point for usefulness and versatility. In addition it is hollow ground from top to bottom with just enough belly to be useful for all sorts of tasks.

The handle is made from one piece of steel. A single sheet of stainless steel is folded in half to form a housing for the closed blade, as well as supplying the enormous strength and rigidity required to compliment the Ram Safe lock. This lock features a unique, self adjusting ram that moves forward as the knife is opened and wedges itself tightly between the tang cut away we call the "shelf" and the "U" shaped "roof" of the handle. It´s powered by a strong compression spring that urges the ram forward and makes for an incredibly strong lock up.

Positive pressure on the lock generated by heavy cutting or chopping strokes is distributed through the blade, then the blade tang shoulder and finally directly into the mono block handle that acts like a giant unbreakable stop pin.

Negative pressure from sticking, digging or prying with the point is directed in a different direction through the blade to the blade tang shelf and then to the ram which is squeezed between the shelf and the "U" shaped roof of the handle.

sehr schönes messer, ich bin begeistert! ich war zuerst skeptisch ob der ganzen youtube videos die dies messer in der luft zerreissen. nach einer anfrage bei swords and more wurde mir versichert das es sich um die verbesserte version handele wo die verriegelung verbessert wurde. als das messer hier ankam natürlich sofort gecheckt, und tatsächlich. der kruppstahl und die einfache konstruktion des messers haben mich letztenendes zum kauf bewegt. es kommt ein wenig marzialisch daher, obwohl die klinge eigentlich recht human ist. allerdings ist der griff sehr groß geraten, bei mir kein problem, aber evtl eher was für große hände. dem problem das die griffschalen etwas dünn sind und bei viel druck in den händen schmerzen, kann man entgegenwirken indem man das kleine benzel gegen ein richtiges lanyard austauscht. mit diesem kann man dann den griff im bereich der schalen verbessern. für mich ist dieses messer inzwischen zu einem fast täglichen begleiter geworden. es ist vom preis her in ordnung, gut verarbeitet und hält lange die schärfe. eine klare kaufempfehlung

Habe mir das Messer u. a. bestellt, da ich mal den Krupp Stahl testen wollte und sehr viele positive Berichte über die Stabilität des Messers gelesen habe. Das Pocket Bushman besticht für mich gerade durch seine "ungehobelte Schlichtheit", welche für mich etwas besonders anziehendes hat. Aufgrund seiner Schlankheit hat es in der Mitte eine sinnvolle Verbreiterung, um die Griffigkeit zu erhöhen. Nur leider bleibt davon im Bereich der Fingermulde nicht mehr allzuviel übrig. Ausserdem ist die Fingermulde zu tief, sodass im Zusammenspiel mit dem Ende der Verbreiterung, mein Zeigefinger einfach zu wenig Halt hat, um einen perfekt sicheren Griff (im Hammergriff) zu gewährleisten, mit dem ich mich, guten Gewissens, an schwerere Arbeiten machen würde. Ausserdem fehlt mir eine Daumenauflage (Riffelung) für den Daumen. Da diese Griffhaltung ansonsten gut sitzt, ist das sehr schade. Abgesehen davon hat das Messer eine sehr starke Verriegelung und sitzt auch ansonsten bombenfest, ohne dass irgendetwas wackelt. Man kann die Klinge relativ schnell, sehr scharf bekommen. Habe bis jetzt nur Gemüse, Obst etc. damit geschnitten, und bin sehr zufrieden. Es spaltet nicht, sondern gleitet gut durch und schneidet sogar noch relativ gut Kleinkram, wie z. B. Knoblauch. Das Einhändige Öffnen ist nach etwas Übung nicht mehr so schwer wie es einem anfänglich vorkommt. Bekomme es jetzt so ziemlich genauso schnell auf, wie bspw. einen Linerlock, obwohl es natürlich aufgrund des Locks einiges mehr an Kraftaufwand erfordert. Etwas Waffenöl hilft, um den Gang etwas geschmeidiger zu machen. Hätte es die Riffelung und einen besseren Halt um "meinen" Zeigefinger, würde ich mir vermutlich noch ein Zweites kaufen, und mich über den günstigen Preis für ein Messer mit besonderem Reiz freuen. Deshalb nur 3 Punkte.
