A rare opportunity for collectors, the Citadel Water Dragon Limited Edition is limited to just 100 swords and is completely handmade in Citadel's small workshop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Each sword is individually crafted from start to finish, giving every piece its own unique character.

A special feature of this series is the individually numbered swords with matching certificates. Each sword is marked with its unique number on the nakago and signed by the smith. This makes every example a distinctive collector's piece.

Collectors also have the rare opportunity to acquire matching numbered sets and save extra when purchasing the corresponding pieces together. Matching sets are available only in limited quantities.

Water Dragon – Inspired by Dragon and Water

This beautifully balanced sword is centered around a water dragon theme. The elaborately designed tsuba combines a dragon with Nami, the Japanese motif of waves. The fuchi and kashira continue the turbulent-water theme, creating a harmonious overall design.

The blade is hand forged from DNH7 high-carbon steel and differentially hardened. It is then hand polished using traditional stones and polishing powders to create an authentic appearance that emphasizes the sword's traditional character.

A full-length bo-hi, or fuller, runs along the blade. It reduces weight and contributes to the sword's balanced handling. The bo-hi continues through the habaki and into the nakago, while the copper habaki is forged to follow the shape of the fuller.

Individually Crafted Tsuka

The tsuka is individually carved for each sword to ensure a precise friction fit. The handle features a complete samegawa, or ray-skin, wrap.

The handle is wrapped in dark blue silk ito imported from Japan. The combination of the deep blue wrapping, natural samegawa texture and finely crafted fittings gives the sword a particularly refined appearance.

Elaborately Crafted Saya

The saya is also individually carved for each sword to ensure a proper and snug fit. It features a deep blue lacquer finish combined with a samegawa wrap.

Each sword is therefore individually crafted from start to finish rather than simply assembled from standardized components.

A True Collector's Piece

With its completely handmade construction, limited production of only 100 examples, individual numbering and signed certificate, the Water Dragon Limited Edition is aimed particularly at collectors of high-quality Japanese swords.

Please note: The sword stand shown in the product images is not included.
