Product information "Raptor Nambokucho Katana"

The Raptor Series has been designed for the cutting practitioner who does not necessarily have access to mats but who wishes to practice and perfect his cutting technique.

The blades are forged in 5160 high carbon steel and specially heat treated to produce very high resilience and greater tolerance of misdirected cuts than a conventional differentially tempered blade.

The edge geometry is configured to facilitate the cutting of both soft and semi-hard materials without chipping, allowing the cutter a wide choice of targets.

Kam leider total mit Rost und Flecken bedeckt bei mir an. Ist möglicherweise ein Nachteil des verwendeten, superzähen Stahls mit hohem Kohlenstoffanteil. Habe Stunden damit verbracht die Klinge zu säubern und zu polieren, jetzt glänzt sie wieder, wie es sich gehört. Das Schwert ist riesig, hat ein ordentliches Gewicht und wäre wohl eher für die Feldschlacht geeignet als für den zivilen Alltag eines Samurai. Die Spitze ist wirklich extrem spitz, da sollte man gut drauf aufpassen...... ich weiss wovon ich rede.... ^^. Das Schwert ist auf dem richtigen Ständer ein sehr imposantes Dekorationsobjekt. Die Schärfe könnte allerdings besser sein, habe es noch ein Mal selber nachgeschliffen, jetzt rasiert es. Wird nicht mehr produziert, daher kann man froh sein, wenn man noch eines ergattern kann. Im Internet gibt es ein Video, in dem jemand mit dem Schwert drei nebeneinander stehende, dicke Bambusstäbe mit einem Hieb durchschlägt, es wird also seinen Zweck erfüllen.
