Product information "Raptor Kogarasu Maru Zukuri"
The Raptor Series has been designed for the cutting practitioner who does not necessarily have access to mats but who wishes to practice and perfect his cutting technique.

The blades are forged in 5160 high carbon steel and specially heat treated to produce very high resilience and greater tolerance of misdirected cuts than a conventional differentially tempered blade.

The edge geometry is configured to facilitate the cutting of both soft and semi-hard materials without chipping, allowing the cutter a wide choice of targets.

Made by Hanwei.

I received the sword in a neatly wrapped package with no damage or signs of mistreating. The first thing i noticed about the sword is the geometry and weight. The sword has a very fine pointed edge and is incredibly sharp at those ends except the back top side which is not sharpened. The balance itself is focused towards the end of the sword allowing for stronger swings.Overall this sword is meant to cut slighty heavier targets and for example it doesn't do so well against thicker water bottles that aren't heavy or straped down.It does really well against wooden materials and it cuts tamashigiri mats with no problems.A cut of a regular bamboo stick can be done with one stroke. The durability of the sword is incredible.I have made several wrongly placed cuts with this sword that could eventually bend it but the sword remained in perfect shape and it did not chip. All in all this is a beautiful and durable sword and for the right job it is a great tool for its price.

Tinker 9th Century Viking sharp
While not a direct copy of any particular sword, the Viking sword design was inspired by historical examples from the early 9th Century, most notably finds from the area around Trondheim, Norway, where the circular indentation hilt decoration was popular. The scabbards are provided with suspension points and a period chape, giving the sheathed sword a very attractive appearance. The construction of the Viking "pair" differs from other swords in the Tinker series in as much as they are tang-riveted (peened) in period fashion at the pommel, primarily to satisfy Viking re-enactment requirements. As with the other swords in the series, replacement blades are available. Again, the handling characteristics of the two swords are virtually identical. CAS has commissioned Michael `Tinker` Pearce to design a line of swords that will satisfy both the sparring and cutting needs of Western Martial Arts practitioners. The swords meet Tinker`s exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Made by Hanwei. Details: Overall length: 95 cm Blade length: 76,5 cm Handle length: 16,5 cm Overall weight: 1,24 kg Point of Balance: 12,07 cm Point of Percussion: 51,5 cm Width at Guard: 5,55 cm Width at Tip: 3,81 cm Specs will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Kingston Arms by Hanweis
Tourney Hand-and-a-Half Knightly Sword - Blunt
A close recreation of the famous Oakeshott Type XVIIIa.4 sword from Records of the Medieval Sword with some liberties taken to make it safe for reenactment and stage use. This sword proves to be a powerful sight on the field of battle and is a perfect accompinament for a 14th to mid 15th Century man of war. Our Tourney Series Medieval Sparring Swords from Kingston Arms will set a new standard in this price point of re-enactment weaponry. Features like thru-tang handle construction, peened thru-tang stainless steel pommel and guard, 2mm rounded edge thickness make these brutal weapons on the battle field. The cord wrapped leather grip feels exceptional in the hand with an oval cross section and slight barrel shape to keep fatigue at bay. The grip is large enough to accomodate armoured hands. A respectable fuller runs the length of the blade to lighten and counter balance the sword overall. A wood core and leather wrapped scabbard tipped with a stainless chape comes with each sword. Further Tourney Series models are the Viking Sword and Single-hand Swords. The blade is forged from 9260 high carbon spring steel and is tempered to about 50 Hrc, providing a long lasting sword. The guard needs special mention, featuring the King-Peen system. King-Peen is essentially a steel tab on the guard under the grip that is pinned through the tang of the sword. This process keeps the guard from going loose after a lengthy campaign without compromising the strength of the hilt. The pommel is pressed into place and hot peened. Combine these two processes and you get a sword that rings like a bell when struck. Specifications Overall: 41 1/4" Blade Length: 32 3/4" Handle Length: 6" Weight: 3lb 7oz Point of Balance: 4" Point of Harmonics: 21 1/2" Blade Steel: 9260 Specs will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Pipe Hawk
The new Pipe Hawk from Cold Steel with an overall length of approx. 48 cm and a hawk length of approx. 19 cm is made from 1055 Carbon steel. The handle is made of American Hickory. Do you prize the look and authentic lines of a traditional Pipe Hawk, but have little use for the hollow bowl and the strength-compromised, drilled-out wooden "smoking" handle? Well here is a Pipe Hawk without those disadvantageous features. Precision forged from 5150 carbon steel, the Pipe Hawk offers a long, reasonably wide cutting edge and a solid, fully hardened hammer poll that's turned and ribbed to mimic a hollow pipe bowl. Fitted with an approx. 48 cm long hickory handle and weighing approximately 737 g it's heavy enough to be brutally effective as a chopping tool and weapon plus its solid bowl will drive nails, spikes and stakes with the power of a framing hammer. Details: Weight: approx. 737 g Overall Length: approx. 48 cm Hawk Length: approx. 19 cm Blade Material: 1055 Carbon Handle Material: American Hickory The matching sheath has the number 82257.
